This new Nets team reminds me of the 1969 Lakers team

The Nets have an alright head coach in Nash just as the 1969 Lakers had with Vbk.

The Nets have a scoring machine in Durant who has a very sensitive personality and ego just like Wilt had.

James Harden is similar to Jerry West in that they both posted monster numbers in close losses and were unable to beat the stacked team of their eras.

Plus just as Baylor hated Wilt for taking his touches away and getting in his way on offence we might see that with Kyrie and Harden now that they are teammates.

Also, all three of them are trying to dethrone a 36-year-old Lebron just as that infamous Lakers big three was trying to dethrone a 36-year-old Russell and his Celtics in 1969.
Reggie Jackson is amazing and a killer in the clutch that's all.

The question for the Nets is who out of their new big three will sacrifice their numbers and touches offensively.

For the 1969 Lakers, Wilt Chamberlain was forced to sacrifice his entire offensive game after winning three straight MVPs with the 76ers from 1966 to 1968 along with a title in 1967.

This decision by Vbk proved to be a disaster as it was clear the Lakers would have been a far better team that year if Wilt was used as the central figure of the Lakers offence with Jerry West being his sidekick and Baylor the third option.

Fun fact under a new coach in 1970 after Vbk was fired for being an idiot Wilt was made the main offensive figure of the Lakers to start the season and he proved that he was still the best player and scorer in the world by averaging 32.5 points on 55 percent shooting throughout the first nine games of that season before he then got injured.
Reggie Jackson is amazing and a killer in the clutch that's all.

Yup, but with three Wilts.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

Interesting comparison!

They remind me of the 2016 Cavs actually.

The role of James Harden will be played by Charles Barkley.

Wait how lol

on a basic level it is 3 max contract players, will not have good defense, will make it up with nuclear offense.

Wilt actually sacrificed the most of anyone that year for the Lakers and was playing like his 1972 self in the postseason that year

If anything most of the blame for the 1969 Lakers failure to win a title has to go to Baylor and coach Vbk as my god were they bad in the postseason that year and it, unfortunately, cost them the title against the Celtics that year.
