This is what doesn't make sense for me also. Still trying to understand because in my mind Allen is one of the better players in this deal, especially considering his useage.

Bucks play both sides of the ball. That matters. And Giannis is going to absolutely destroy the Nets as well.

And that's where you get exposed.

Imagine thinking either of those players has a PRAYER at stopping Harden.

Guy is due for a payday not good for Tillman's pocket

Seems like a decent guy to pay though, no? Not like the Rockets have much of a front-court anyway.

Wall, Oladipo, Tucker, Wood, Allen

I think they would have done better than they were doing with a disinterested Harden.

Bucks are absolutely awful in the playoffs and constantly get bounced by lower seeded teams.

Nets would win in 5 games easily.

Lebron needs to wreck this team in the finals to cement his goat legacy. Hope they match up.

They don’t have Bledsoe anymore and DiVencenzois a better overall player than Matthews. Bucks starting five is as complete as it gets.

Still not sold on the bucks with their history in the playoffs the last several years. No matter how good the bucks are defensively Nets just have too many people that can score.

As a long time Nets fan I have no clue what Houston is doing. They should've just kept LeVert and Allen which would've given them Wall/Gordon/LeVert/Wood/Allen with some quality bench pieces as well. It must be the Rockets owner not wanting to spend money with tied the GM's arms somewhat.

Pacers made a great deal to take LeVert with a quality contract with time left on his deal.

Love the trade for Cavs. They got Allen for Exum a late first from Bucks and taking on Prince's contract...absolute robbery. Allen is only 22 years old and is a fantastic center prospect, love the guy. They should re-sign him in the summer and build with their young guards Allen and the 2021 pick but great trade by Cavs.

I'm super happy as a Nets fan. We are trying to win a championship so couldn't care less about the draft picks. We gave up 3 1st round picks and pick swaps but I believe Nets will re-sign Irving, Harden and KD in 2023 so it will work out a 5-6 year window of contention. For the pick swaps to be a problem we would have to be worse than the Rockets which again I don't see happening.

Can't wait to see Harden Irving and KD play together.

Giannis will get locked up again as usual and nobody cares about Middleton or Jrue. Nobody can stop those 3 from getting buckets individually and now they're all on the same team . Tbh you guys might not even be better than the Celtics or Heat much less be the favs coming out of the East.

I'd venture a guess that it was the lack of pick haul that the Nets gave up that kept the Sixers on the sidelines for this one...

I wonder if he is trying to set the team up for a sale in a few years -- tank it now plus the future picks, save money now and then sell with the pitch to the new owners that they get to put their imprint on the team.

No clue but he might be. I know his finances were killed with covid cutting his income via casino's etc but this just screams money saying and not having the money to spend. Cousins, Wood and Allen would be a super front court rotation. Levert fits a need in Houston as he can play anywhere 1-3 really. Just doesn't make sense taking the Bucks late 1st in 2021 for Allen. Strange. If Brooklyn perfroms as they should, also if the stars re-sign with Brooklyn, i don't see those 3 1sts being anything but late round 1st rounders with the pick swaps not being enforced due to Houston not finishing with a better record than the Nets.

We will see I suppose.

and all along I thought Kyrie wanted to be his own guy, not a "son' to anyone.. thus, leaving lebron.. who's his daddy now?

KD wanting to be the leader of his team, thus leaving Golden State.... who's the leader now?

Harden wanting to run his show, his way, thus leaving Rockets.... will the Nets be the Harden show 2.0 ? :D :noway:

Tillman saved $10 million on this deal now. He's just a bad cheap owner. End of story. He'll probably try to clear the cap space then sell. Could fetch $2.5 billion easy, maybe $3 billion if expansion happens.

Kyrie is the only one I believe of those 3. KD's problem was that Curry was the fan favorite. He didn't have any problem with Curry otherwise.
Harden just doesn't care. He just wants to be on a team that has a good chance to win.
Kyrie is the only one who might not be happy when he is called the 3rd best player on the nets which is the truth.

unless there's a complete buy in by all three & until one or 2 of them drops all ambitions of being "the guy", this combo is gonna have problems making it work. I actually see a better scenario for the Nets where Kyrie leaves & only KD and Harden staying with the Nets. I think they'll be more lethal that way. more seamless rather than keeping all 3, which is like an implosion waiting to happen.

Philly had a good day, walking away and staying out of a bidding war that got to a stupid cost level. Sometimes the moves you don’t make are the best ones.

I truly believe that Nets would have traded Kyrie to Rockets but both Rockets and Nets know that Kyrie will demand a trade as soon as he is traded to a team with no title hope and would have acted even worse than Harden till he was traded.
