On a typical starless, Maxless Timberwolves team he would have been given the starting ponit role and might have scored 25+points every third game. And Woves would be anywhere from 1-8 to 3-8. So we aren't much better right now with him not starting point for 33 minutes each game. But he would never learn to be anything else than an inefficient player. So I sort of see the early struggles as a good thing. It might propel him and beg the team to also work hard with him on learning more ways to play. Just isn't happening right away. He's not Ja Morant. He's not James Harden.
But Josh Okogie was a nightmare his first two seasons as far as game IQ and lack of control. Look at him in season 3 now. He's much more aware now, anticipation is better. His scoring isn't there but he's getting even better as a defender. Now imagine Edwards by year three, finally being aware of everything, his roles, anticipating the opponents and his teammates. it will probably be pretty darn special by year two or three. Again, just not now and they should keep playing him close to the vest until then.
