for some reason, I felt that a KD- Harden combo makes a lot more sense that KD- Kyrie. or even KD-Kyrie & Harden..

& trading Kyrie for depth makes the Nets more scary for me that having all 3 with the Nets.

If anybody takes Irving I'd be shocked. Dude has been awful for any franchise he's played. Why would anyone want the headache and the contract?

That's not true, he was great for the Celtics for the most part, he changed after the all star break in his second season and kinda quit. He plays well for Brooklyn still, but he is having mental issues and nobody wants that.

He was trying to buy in in his first season in Boston. His second season was embarrassing, literally. I believe the guy knew he was leaving, but didn't want to say it out loud, cause he'll catch some flack for it. The entire season he was chucking shots and giving a **** about playing defense.

Kyrie i think is going to be very difficult to trade for anything substantial, certainly not for anything of equal value.
You actually saw him quit on the Celtics in the playoffs against Mil. Theres no doubt to this, he stopped trying to win and was going through the motions to end the season and move on the Brooklyn.
Now you see him quitting on the Nets, his buddy works his ass off to get back on the court after a horrendous injury and he leaves him hanging.
I dont see how he is worth the risk to anyone, even if he agrees to it and publicly states he wants to play there, he did the same to Boston and Brooklyn.

My point? Kyrie knew the Harden trade was in the works, and he feels betrayed by KD - 'cause he feels he brought KD there, and KD signed off on Harden coming there, which pushes him to third option.

If he knew Harden was coming, this all makes a lot more sense, than Kyrie taking personal days so suddenly.

Yeh, you’re onto something. That’s why I made a thread yesterday questioning whether “Kai” was purposely doing this to make him undesirable via trade ? Remember how HOU initially(when James first wanted out) would only do Harden for Kyrie or KD? Suddenly yesterday, stories that HOU wants nothing to do with Kyrie.

I want to say this though; the Nets should be & truthfully I think are looking to move Kyrie.

You’d be surprised

It is unclear when Kyrie Irving will return to the Brooklyn Nets as he remains away from the team for personal reasons. “Today before this went down, I had a conversation with four or five people with teams and of course Kyrie was a huge topic of conversation in the league today,” said Brian Windhorst. “I asked ‘what do you guys think the trade market for Kyrie Irving is right now? Let’s say something happened and they had to trade him.’ “And the answers that I got were wild. Wild! I got everything from.. and these were general managers and assistant general managers. “I got everything from ‘I think you can still get two firsts for him’ to ‘You can attach him in as filler.’ I got that level of [differing opinions].”

Would the Nets take a Coby White & Markkanen/fillers type of trade for Kyrie right now? If so who would say no? Imagine a Kyrie/Lavine back court for the Bulls. That would be some fun stuff to watch.

Someone is going to convince themselves that Kyrie will come there and behave. I think he will hate it at first, but he will likely be traded to a situation where he is the clear no. 1, and he will embrace it because, whether he ever will admit it or not, he just wants to have the ball and do what he wants. Hey, for franchises without any real championship hopes, it wouldn't be a bad trade-off. Kyrie, when on his game, is a nuclear weapon, with a lot of flair.

You need to stop assuming Kyrie is playing 3-dimensional chess and start realizing he's a mentally unstable narcissist.

I agree with him quitting in Boston, but I think only Boston fans recall, or even care about that.

Many people just think he didn't play well, and didn't question it beyond that. That's not an unreasonable assumption, but it was very clear Kyrie was doing some very weird things on the court to tank that series.

I don't think acting out, because you think you are about to either be traded, or moved down a level in importance, requires a lot of intellect.

Okay, but sources I've been hearing say that specifically what happened is that Brooklyn agreed to demands from Houston that they'd previously said "No" to because they got desperate in the wake of Kyrie's behavior.

That's plausible. Question is, if the other reports are true, why is he upset with KD all of a sudden?

As it stands, the most plausible reason is KD signed off on Harden coming over, Kyrie caught wind of it, and is mad as hell.

According to all reports, Kyrie and KD both worked extremely hard preparing for the season. Kyrie has been playing at a very high level. Suddenly, he just don't want to play basketball anymore?

Nah. He got triggered, somehow.

Sounds like a Typical Beta move from the player who has been second his whole career.

Fair but I don’t understand why all of a sudden he decided to be mad at the hiring of Nash? Either way, Harden and KD should be fun to watch, adding Irving into the mix might derail the whole organization lol. If he keeps acting like a baby, Durant might be ok with shipping his butt off. Now who would want Irving and for what price, is the question.
