I wonder, who would trade for Kyrie right now? What type of package would you expect back?

Seems like the guy needs a very specific situation for him to be happy and want to play.

Clippers, maybe the Mavericks? I can't think of another team that he would willingly go to, can you?

If I'm the Nets priority number one is trading Irving for a couple guys who can play defense.

Read on Twitter

Nets GM said he spoke to Irving and Kyrie is excited to come back and play. It seems Kyrie will not be retiring yet.

Role players. I don’t even want high end role players, defenders and maybe some decent shooters with size.

The boat has sailed for any quality team to want to deal with Kyries bulls***. I’m looking at the lower end teams that would be willing to take the risk. Whoever that maybe will be decided in the coming weeks.

Kyrie is expected back according to Sean marks. Let Kyrie build his trade value back, and everyone goes back to being amazed by his skills. You know, the whole “Kyrie maybe crazy but he is a STUD” kind of stuff folks say. Somebody will bite eventually and I won’t be mad

Love Kyrie but at this point, you are on your childhood team with your best friends and another friend in harden that you also called your brother

Image

We have given this man everything he could ask for. If he continues to be a problem, once that trade value is built back up, I’d start calling around for role players, not a star or even a borderline star, give me all the quality depth from players that would be average/G-league status anywhere else, as long as they could defend and hit a 3 or two

My point? Kyrie knew the Harden trade was in the works, and he feels betrayed by KD - 'cause he feels he brought KD there, and KD signed off on Harden coming there, which pushes him to third option.

If he knew Harden was coming, this all makes a lot more sense, than Kyrie taking personal days so suddenly.

Absolutely makes sense. Although I still dont condone his actions. Curious where he will be traded to , Im feeling it is eventually going to happen.

If I'm the Nets I would be ecstatic if I could get Andrew Wiggins for Kyrie. No Minny pick needed just get World B Flat off my roster.

Trade him for who? Who will trade for a dude that can and WILL disappear on the fly for an unknown amount of time?

Getting rid of Kyrie will be addition by subtraction, but any GM that offloads anything of true value for Kyrie needs to be fired before the phone call ends.

You underestimate the stupidity of teams front offices. Some desperate team with a bunch of role players would take him. Also, Kyrie is expected to be back as Sean marks just announced. If Kyrie continues to act a fool

We will let him build his trade value, average his 24/4/7, let everybody be wowed by his skills then move his ass with the quickness.

I agree no team worth a damn is trading for this disappearing act of a point guard, some other desperate ass teams with role players that don’t do **** for them, but might help us, will take the bite.

Someone mentioned Orlando's Vucevic. Ok, you don't trade for Kyrie and keep Vucevic. What did you accomplish?

At least with Kyrie, you can sell a lot more merchandise than Vucevic, or anyone on that team will ever sell.

That's just one option.

said this days ago.... Kyrie's latest tantrum is all about disrespect: They didn't consult on the coach, they didn't ask him about Harden, they aren't letting him run the team. He legitimately thought that HE would be running the Nets and now knows he's way down the line and isn't happy about it. This will be fun to watch

Never thought I'd agree with a Celts fan. Yes, it will be fun to watch the Nets compete for titles for the next few years.

LOL..... sorry to burst your bubble, but this is probably a lot closer to the KG/PP trade for you guys.

This is an extremely smoothbrain take. Hall of fame players caring about other players than their own success, sure thing lol

No problem. We will trade KD and Harden to you guys in 6 years, for 5 future unprotected.

KD’s 10 burner accounts says he cares more.

What GM is trading for Kyrie at this point though?

This story actually makes sense.

Trade Kyrie for better fitting pieces.

Harden is full stop a better player/asset/leader. Despite what you might think of Harden this season, the dude shows up every night to play, is durable, and is the best scorer of this generation.

Harden > Kyrie

I do not consider Harden a better scorer than Kyrie at all.

I consider him more durable, and able to physically handle the wear and tear of his much higher usage. Better scorer? Not at all.

Pretty smart observation. It now makes all sense why he ran away just before Harden trade and decided to quit on the team.
Kyrie is going to get multiple picks now that he wants out. A lot of lottery teams would be hungry.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

I think trying to figure out what Kyrie is thinking or what his motives are is a fools game. He’s not logical.

First off Irving absolutely knew Harden was coming there. Actually is there anyone that didn't think for one second Harden was not going to be traded to the nets months when Harden said that is where he wanted to go? Players point to what team they want to go to and the owners happy to comply. Probably not a coincidence that when it become closer to realty in the last two weeks Irving goes AWAL.

Second, and the biggest problem, is that Irving thinks he is Lebron James where he can hire or fire coaches, as well deciding on trades and which players to bring in like Lebron does.

What could end up happening is that Irving will demand a trade to the Lakers which the nets will do for some bench players and a few picks in 2025 or 2026 to make up for the ones they traded away.

No way, if the Nets trade Kyrie for depth then they will just be OKC Thunder lite, but older and fatter. They need to make it work with Kyrie or trade him for another superstar like Embiid or Kawhi in order to beat the Lakers. The Lakers are big and deep so there is no way you are going to beat them with just 2 premier scorers.

A lineup with Kyrie/Harden/Harris/KD could be a repeat of how the Warriors beat Lebron in 3 out of 4 finals. You need to essentially trade 3s for 2s in a slugging match with them because the Lakers can pretty much score at will in the paint and will prevent you from doing the same.
