The NBA is fun, but Boston not playing for at least a week and NOT being involved in any trade of any kind is killing me. I feel like a can of Soda shaken But not opened. :-?

Wonder if Kemba's ready to go. Will need him while JT's out.

Well the Celtics have eight guys...

Thompson
Fall
G Williams
Nesmith
Smart
Teague
Pritchard
Waters

So they will play Friday. Kemba is starting his ramp up to a return, but it wont be until sometime next week most likely. The Celtics have 3 guys listed as out:

Tatum
R Williams
Edwards

And four guys listed as questionable:

Brown
Semi
Green
Theis

The most interesting part is the questionable guys, I guess they are still in the H&S protocol quarantine but they will clear it and their availability depends on testing negative tomorrow? If they were still in the quarantine period I don't know how they'd be questionable.

I assume if the team puts out an injury report we plan on playing.

Unless I am missing something about protocols, can a player be cleared to practice and be near Negative Covid teammates and still not be allowwed to play? I am guessing Tomorrow is a lock for Boston to at least play.

The Celtics have the second-best record in the league, behind the Lakers.

I was arguing with a man named fart, true story, and came across this really interesting small sample size nugget. He said it's not like we have the next KD and D. Wade in Tatum and Brown. So I compared them in years 4 and 5 respectively and they're pretty damn close:

Wade vs. Brown:

https://stathead.com/basketball/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&player_id1=wadedw01&p1yrfrom=2008&player_id2=brownja02&p2yrfrom=2021

Durant vs Tatum:

https://stathead.com/basketball/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&player_id1=duranke01&p1yrfrom=2011&player_id2=tatumja01&p2yrfrom=2021

I'm incredibly pumped to have these two locked in for basically the next half decade (and hopefully beyond).

Surprising (and reassuring) to me if true: Perk thinks that Theis is one of the most popular guys in the locker room, perhaps behind only Tacko.

By the way -- various folks are suggesting Theis' defense against Embiid wasn't as bad as the numbers look. I'm dubious, but the same claim is gospel when it comes to Russell vs. Wilt. :)

Nah. Those are just fanboys talking. Theis gets constantly trashed by other legit bigs. He is juat too small to guard the 5. We already knew that coming in. At least he has some offense, compared to the disaster Tristan Thompson. Perk has no credibility as an analyst. Same guy who hyped the TT signing lol.

So Stevens actually had R.Will on minutes restriction since day 1 of this season. 10-15mins? The guy averages 16mins a game prior to covid lol. He probably would have played better against embiid as compared to TT.

Since I was initially fine with the Thompson signing, I can't complain much. But we probably should've used the MLE on a scoring wing and let Timelord loose as either the starting big or primary backup big playing 25+ mins. Signed a minimum vet big who's fine not playing minutes some nights.

Dunno what to do with Teague now. He has to play better or GTFO.

I guess Danny was banking on Timelord missing games, which has proven to be correct. But yeah, unless they are trying to tamp down the value of his next contract, this situation sucks.

Brown & Hayward are averaging the same amount of assists this year, feels weird to say that lol
