moses moody maybe fits that description plus also has potential as a very young player, also could consider bouknight. honestly outside of the top 4 or 5 the draft looks pretty weak

It seems we always say that ("outside of the top...weak...) But is that because we're always star*******? There seems to always be an Adebayo, Herro, Paschall, Bridges, Hart, Christian Wood, Haliburton to be found outside that top 6.

You seem to be confusing them with other players. As rookies, Sabonis was straight awful and neither Bridges was able to score. Hell even in year two, both Bridges' were objectively bad offensive players...like 99% of young players. Mikal Bridges was a good defender right away, but Miles wasn't & Mikal's offense is just now coming around; in his 3rd (24yo) season.

didn't mean the MSU Bridges. Mikal could play and we knew from college he could score. Ditto Saboinis rebounding. You can expect some rocky rookie moments from anyone but they have to show promise. It's not like someone waved a magic wand to make Sabonis a good player - the indgredients were there. With our lot they aren't.

sure there are always good players outside of that, and there will be this time too. it's just that the odds of landing one is low and the odds of the knicks landing one is even lower

Sabonis became a good player because he was given time to develop & put in the work, no magic required, but he was terribad as a rookie...despite being a year older than RJ when he came in. I'm talking <40%FGs, a worse rebounding rate than RJ, a worse FT% than RJ, and a genuinely heinous defender.

You're forgetting just how bad he was because of the progress he's made

Has us taking Bouknight.
I think we’ll obviously be selecting higher than this though.

I. WANT. ZIAIRE. WILLIAMS.

Stanford keeps wasting his passes & he needs to add strength so he can finish through contact better...but watching him drain pull-up 3s is fun too. 4-6 from deep and it's still early in the 2nd half.

Ziaire gives da Silva a perfect feed...Oscar bowls over the defender & picks up an offensive foul; before Ziaire gets his 4th foul on the other end. *sigh* frustrating night for stanford, but Williams was looking really good.

Watching more and more of David Duke... I’m all in on him. Give me Duke if we can’t get Cade, Green, Suggs, Kuminga.

We can use the Mavs pick on him or Butler. Ziaire needs to be the priority with our pick after the lotto gods shut us down *drools*

I've only seen clips of Duke so far, so don't have a strong opinion about him.

But I don't care where mocks have Ziaire, I want him if the lotto gods don't hook us up

He's everything I love in a prospect and would be a great fit with RJ & Julius/Obi

Moose’s moody but he’s not exactly a high upside pick. His role in the NBA will be 3&D most likely

Corey kispert is there but I mean are you really going to take kispert at 8. :dontknow:

Those two should be solid players though that fit your description.

Ziare Williams has some good upside and should be a solid two player if your looking for better upside players that could be there around 8.

Duke is pretty much everything we want in a guard. Can score on every single level, good court vision, shoots 40% from 3, athletic, shoots 40% from 3 and a great defender.

I'll try to catch Providence to check him out. How would you compare him to Jared Butler?

that Duke stepback with a crossover was legit one of the most athletic things ive seen in this draft.

I might be Ziaire's biggest fan atm, but he's not the finished article. He's going to need time, both to finish growing into his body / filling-out and to polish his game/figure out how best to utilize his skillset at the NBA level.

If he was going to come in as the player he can grow into, he'd be challenging Cade for that #1 pick.

I think he's better than Butler. Better athlete and has size on him (6'5)

Is he a 1 or a 2 tho? That’s the question. I do like the shooting ability tho. Though I’m surprised you’re not nitpicking his high release rigid shot form.

Also, how you feel about him being such an older prospect?
