Didn't like either of them when we acquired them. Love them both now.

He’s the main culprit in terms of leaving his man to help on another which leads to an open 3 somewhere.

Them going 12-24 from three Vs us going 9-17 from three is why we are losing this one.

Their bench has put up 34pts to our 17pts as well.

If Monk has was being punished for off the court stuff or really was just being affected by lingering covid stuff, then I totally understand not playing him, but otherwise the dude is just too talented to not at least try to make it work.

I get that the team is desperate for defense this year, but Monk isn't any worse than Rozier or Graham (I think Graham is worse tbh and is shooting like 30% from the field) and I don't think whether Monk or one of the Martin twins is the 9th man is going to be what makes or break the defense, so Id rather just go where the talent is and double down on what the team is emphasizing, which is speed, playmaking, and shooting.

Monk is a good fit for the offensive system Borrego wants to play and hes a good fit on the second unit with Melo. Just give the dude a chance and if it fails then so be it, the upside is worth it imo. This year should be more of an experimental year than anything anyways.
