Wait ... I’m sure someone already posted this but ...

Is Harden’s first game with the Nets going to be against the Orlando Magic?

A 'star' for us is a solid starter on another team.
There is no way AG is considered a 'star'- he is what he is: a solid rotational piece.

Of all the “Super Stars” in the NBA, James Harden is the last on the list I would want to build a franchise around. In fact, I would rather pick a young non-Super Super with the potential to become one rather than deal with James Harden.

However ...

If Houston were stupid enough to accept AG for Harden straight up (+ minimal filler) then you take that and run!!!

The issue with this deal is the endless supply of unprotected draft picks and pick swaps which go far beyond the length of these BIG-3 contracts. What happens to Brooklyn if this fails and those guys walk?

If they win 1 or 2 titles, everyone resigns and they win more titles then no one gives a damn about those picks. That is the gamble they made.

Why would Houston take on Victor Oladipo rather than Ben Simmons? Oladipo is in his last year of contract and he wants to play for the Heat. Doesn't make any sense. I guess the FRPs and Pick Swaps really convinced Houston

Why?...are we suddenly not contending now?

Good trade, IMO, for HOU and CLE. Not bad for IND, assuming Dipo wanted a max or just out...BRK paid a ton but one ring let’s you claim a win. BRK now immensely talented but ripe for soap opera...maybe Kyrie demands out within a year.

Nets were solid defensive team before trade, no reason why they can't be after.
They traded 3 bench players and picks for Harden...

Good luck to any team trying to defend Harden and Irving and Durant 1 on 1. Most of the nights teams will just cry themselfs to bed after spenking. Harden, Durant pick&roll oh my god...

Also the team most likely to self destruct from ego. It's going to be fascinating to watch/follow.

Well it all depends what are their main goals, i think Harden got burned by critics and guy just got depressed.
Durant has to prove he can win without Warriors.
Irving without Lebron.

It's not like they have nothing to prove, they can use that as fuel. Or they can burn out.

Time will tell.

Supposedly, HOU ownership is hurting financially, tax avoidance might have been #1 priority....The “Process” looks like a rebuild but is also a big money saver

It's so stupid. It's so hard to find a Ben Simmons level player. If they're having financial problems, they should look to shed salary elsewhere and possibly sell the team.

Agree...you grab a young cornerstone when you can. If you can't - get out. I guess the guy's in hotels, casinos, etc and is having an especially bad year(s). Just speculation on a podcast, but makes sense...I'd be pissed if he hadn't been told of Oladipo's Miami "thing" until 5 mins after the trade. It now looks like he's just an expiring...MIA won't give much if all they need to do is clear a little more cap.

Maybe they don't rate him so high, I don't like him too for example.

We lose by 50.

WeHam explains that Evan (14.8) + Fultz (12.9) + Isaac (11.9) + MCW (5.1) + Bamba (5.0) + Chuma (3.0) = 52.7 points a game

So we should have won.

Because that is how that works ...

That's fine but then you can move him later if you feel that way after the season and get great value back... unlike Oladipo

I say Irving might be available for highest bidder this summer or next. Whoever is stupid enough to get him.
