What did I learn? Nothing new. We need to make some trades with an eye to the future. The natives are restless. Magic fans on every forum are sick to their stomachs with this roster they keep dishing up

Should Magic trade for someone to boost the rotation or let it sit out and finish the season with what we have?

I suggested Evan for DeRozen 2 weeks ago. And I really want Evan to come back. The lack of shooting is killing us right now

It's honestly sad. The team chemistry was unlike anything I had seen in Orlando since 2010. Yes, we were winning against weaker opponents, but the team was meshing really well. Markelle was leading and creating. We still had a massive hole in the shooting department, but the team was compensating and playing within roles. The roles were defined. Even Chuma was playing within himself enough not to be a major liability on the floor. There were two major components that were paving the way for our team success:

1. Markelle's chemistry with Vuc
2. Ross's' chemistry with Khem

The 1st and 2nd units were synchronized. Markell going down killed a lot of that. But losing Evan, MCW, Chuma, for a significant stretch, then AG sporadically just completely threw the plan into the can. You can really see it in Ross's output post injuries. He has lost all rhythm.

I'm not sure that this team's pre-injury ceiling would have been any higher than a 6-7 seed, but this team, post injuries, without their floor general... will be lucky to get to the play in game. We went from being fun to watch to constantly fielding some of the worst lineups in the league. Jordan Bone, who don't get me wrong, I like and am excited about his development, is getting 20+ minutes a game. Aaron Gordon has been admirable stepping up and playing point forward, but the guy hasn't been the main ball handler since high school. Big Kudos to Vuc for continually playing lights out, when other teams know he's the only guy on the floor who can shoot. But man, this is potentially turning into a throwaway season.

I'm watching now just to see:
How will Cole's development progress? Can he get his shooting on track?
Can Bamba show us something? Anything? He's shown flashes. Can he show some health consistency?
AG has played within himself, making smart decisions, more so than in the past, and his shooting in the past 3 games has been nice. Is that just a flash in the pan, or is he maturing?
Is Chuma on the Isaac track? Can come back at and stay healthy? Can he carve out a consistent role?.

It's just a pity that we are once again being murdered by injuries.

"The lack of shooting is killing us right now. Let's trade for DeRozen!"

psst.. DeRozen 3p% through the last 5 games? 16%
