Re: The Official Cunningham vs Suggs Thread #Tank4Either
A Mobley, Siakam, OG frontline seems really good, like very complimentary, and also stresses 3&D capability.
Need to get an average SG tho. That Moody guy looks intriguing. Is there anyway we can get another top 10 pick? Lowry, Norm and Matt Thomas are the only trade chips we have. Can we combine those assets into a 7-10 pick?

Mobley and Kuminga are interesting, but I think you must have a star primary ballhandler at PG/SG/SF to contend in today's NBA, so assuming the talent levels are similar, I'd prefer Cade/Green.

How's Green's defense? If he's going to be a Beal on offense it's fine but if hes less than that then I don't think Raps will be interested.

Cade- point forward type with intangibles that win ball games. Can have him run the offence with FVV off ball in the backcourt.
Suggs- Similar to Cade in that we have him run the offence with FVV off ball and Suggs guarding the bigger player.
Mobley- Fills our hole at C. Great frontcourt would need to grab a SG in offseason.
Green- I see as a guy who could be a go to scorer that we need to take pressure off Siakam.
All this is based on very little research on my part but I would be thrilled to have anyone of these guys going forward. Tank. Tank. Tank.

any opinions on Day'ron Sharpe? I feel like if you can sell high on Boucher for a pick and grab a kid like that, we're in a much better position vs just watching Chris walk for nothing after next season and having to blow capspace on some other C who in all likelihood won't really be much better.

Just give Boucher an extension for the MLE for 5 years with max raises. Player option 5th year. With his frail frame does he gamble and risk injury? Don't Brinks Truck mistake IT.
Or renegotiate and do an extension in the off-season to replace the team option. So he gets $3 million more for 2021/2022 and 4 years after with the player option.

https://www.theringer.com/nba/2021/1/13/22226644/2021-nba-draft-evan-mobley-usc
The problem for the Trojans this season is that they don’t know how to take advantage of his playmaking. Mobley is unselfish and will find the open man when the defense collapses on him. His teammates just don’t always return the favor. All the players in the rotation seem to believe they are NBA prospects who should be hunting for their own shot. There are long stretches of games when they seemingly forget Mobley is even out there.
The makeup of USC’s roster is holding him back. The team’s starting point guard (sophomore Ethan Anderson) is an inconsistent playmaker who has been out for most of the season with a back injury. The players behind him are even worse options. Combine that with an overall lack of 3-point shooting and it’s easy for defenses to crowd Mobley when he does get the ball. USC is no. 112 in the country in assists (14.5 per game) and no. 295 in 3-point attempts (18.3).
He can play (defense-wise) C like Myles Turner 6'11. Mobley is 7ft and only 19. A few years to fill out frame will be okay.

It’s January, 24 pages in, and almost nobody has figured of CC isn’t quick enough to play decent defence yet? And isn’t gonna have that burst? And still want him? Cool...

People are betting on his length and size at PG from what I can see. I will admit that he has to carry a bigger load on offense than the other top prospects.Johnny Bball wrote:It’s January, 24 pages in, and almost nobody has figured of CC isn’t quick enough to play decent defence yet? Re: The Official Cunningham vs Suggs Thread #Tank4Either
Are we sure suggs isn't the better prospect and we're not being biased because of cades physical attributes? Suggs seems to have the better per 36 numbers on lower usage. A lot of his advanced numbers look better than cades too (Although im not extremely fluent in advanced stats and don't know where to discount or factor in the talent levels on their teams)

Re: The Official Cunningham vs Suggs Thread #Tank4Either
I've been making the case that Suggs/Mobley are better analytically but that may be because Cade is playing with less talented players than Mobley/Suggs.MavCarter wrote:Are we sure suggs isn't the better prospect and we're not being biased because of cades physical attributes? Also, I think high usage is good (for college ball) because you want to know how that player performs with that high usage (aka being THE guy).
I still got Suggs as #1 on my draft board because he is already great at defense. High steal rate, rebounds well for a guard. It's hard for him to showcase being THE guy because he has Kispert, Ayayi, Timme and Nembhard on his team.

Cade and now Mobely?!?!?
Mobley sees Baynes starting and no super ballhogs on the roster.
Other bigs if can trade for a late 1st:
Kai Jones - Myles Turner with less shot-blocking instincts but a better handle
Jay Huff (Virginia) - taller Boucher
Liam Robbins (Minnesota) - Rasho with a 3pt shot
Luka Garza (Iowa) - 6'11 Tyler Hansborough with a 3pt shot

The same thing people said about Doncic.

I watched some video. He's like Eddy Curry. As a prospect, not better than Vernon Carey or Daniel Oturu.
If they didn't draft Xavier Tillman, they won't draft Sharpe. Just doesn't fit with the modern NBA besides a backup big.

I’m thinking our reputation of development is starting to affect our image and making a bunch of prospects want to play for us knowing they’d be situated for success

Why did OSU’s Tuesday game get cancelled? COVID I presume.
