TeamNegative wanted to tank back in the derozan days tho. Meaning we couldn’t trade demar for Kawhi and win a championship.
I’d say team positive won out that time![]()
All should be aboard the tank now.
Team Mediocre weren't saying lets trade Demar for a superstar. They said Demar was fine and that it's everything else that was the problem (they would blame Casey, JV, Lowry, etc). They would make arguments like getting swept by the cavs wasn't embarrassing and that at least we made it that far into the playoffs.
You remember knucklebuc? You could say the most light criticism about demar and he would get sooooo triggered and write paragraphs about it. lol good times

Re: Tank World Order
If this team sneaks into the playoffs somehow, it will be swept out in the first round. I am surprised how some Raptors fans do not believe in "tanking" especially for this year. This organization will never get a star player through free agency. History since 1995 shows it. They had to overpay for players like Jason Kapono and Hedo Turkoglu the years they had a lot of cap space. You have a deep draft coming up, especially the top 5 this year. You have holes on your team, and there is no point being a 8th or 10th seed this year in Tampa.
If I am a Masai, I am burning up the phone lines and seeking value for Lowry and Powell; and no other player should be off-limits. If Boucher can get a good return, I would dangle him as well. After witnessing a championship, I would be fine with a mini-rebuild for this year and even next. Both have deep drafts, and this team has to look at the draft to acquire the star talent it lacks. It will never get an all-star player in free agency. I am surprised how many fans hate the idea of a mini rebuild, and are content being a "treadmill".

People believe the method is to built assets like last time and wait for another Kawhi to become available without realizing the context of how the value of a Kawhi trade this time would be 5 fold and is the value of the trade going to leave us good enough to win?

Pro treadmillers on one hand think tank/rebuilds mean we become like poorly managed teams like the Kings and Bulls and on the other hand believe Masai and Bobby are elite GMs. I have tremendous confidence they wouldn’t botch a rebuild at all.

WSH VS DET game being postponed tonight was a huge hit to tank morale.

Re: Tank World Order
Most of the trash teams have their games postponed. I'm worried they won't have to play their games out at the end of the season and so they'll have lower win percentages than us.

Only half the schedule is out, I think makeup games are supposed to scheduled in before the 2nd half is released.

Yea thats what I don't understand. People say they did an amazing job scouting out talent like Siakam/Powell and finding FVV. So based on that they should be able to avoid drafting busts in top 5.
Saying team xyz botched all these lottery picks, but not discussing how they also had horrible management. Calling the entire draft lottery a "crapshoot" is a such a cop out. Just let Larry Tanenbaum draft at that point if its just a crapshoot and there's no way of knowing whose good or bad.

These trades are pretty lopsided for the other teams especially in light on the Harden package

i do lol. for me, the msot fun is when u have a legit cotender like we did in 2019 (tho i was still wary bc healthy gsw was a bs team) but that was an incredible season bc i knew the past failures wouldnt mean anything now we had a legit star.
but after a contedning team, my favoirte to watch is a young and upcoming team thats building into a contender.
then its fun to watch a tank season where you know theres another prize at the end of the season then can lead to the one above which leads to the one aboe that.
watchign a treadmill isnt fun but this team is still better to watch then 2017=2018 seasons where u know we would just get embarrsed in a new way. This team will atleast put up a fight in the first round.
Bro we’re not going to the first round. We’re getting Cade Cunningham.
prayign for that but i expect to be dissapointed lol

Re: Tank World Order
I just watched Knicks Cavs. Some of Hawks Jazz. Bulls just lost. Orlando is quickly finding it’s level and it’s sub-par. Wiz and Pistons postponed was a blessing to basketball fans everywhere. I don’t see Raps finishing behind enough of these teams to finish out of at least the play-in, Lowry or no Lowry trade. The East 7-15 is a cesspool once more.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

I get people want to a good pick, but just being in last place is no guarantee that we get it.
Its kinda fun though. We want to be at the end of either spectrum between winning and losing.
How it should be. Championship or tank.

Re: Tank World Order
Its gonna be really hard to out tank these teams in the east. Last year the Wizards were the 9th seed with only 25 wins. 10-15 seed all had less than 24 wins. The only teams that improved are the Hornets and maybe the Cavs. Knicks, Bulls, and Hawks are starting to lose games again. Its gonna be very hard to out tank them if Masai doesnt fully commit to the tank
