I keep saying, Celtics lucky to have both Tatum and Brown. Two elite wings. Now Ainge needs to fill it in and a couple of players may already be on the roster and just need a little time

Not sure about that. If that was so, Brad wouldn't consistently put Jaylen on the opposing team's best wing. Brown is much better at fighting thru screens, and has more strength to cut off drives. Tatum is longer, and a better rebounder. Both are plus defenders but I'd put JB a bit above JT.

Well, traditional NBA strategy says you do not give the hardest assignment to your best offensive player, since you prefer he conserve energy for the other end.

Jaylen could average 24/6/3 on 49% FG and 40% 3PT this year and you’d still find a way to hate or criticize lol. What does he need to average for you to be content with him as the player?

Man is currently putting up 27/5/3 on 58% FG and 43% 3PT and after every good game you find a way to say something negative. Now that is rent free lmao.

You say “oh he was playing against G-leaguers anyone could put up 40 against the Grizzlies” or “Jrue Holiday is a lazy defender of course Brown got 30 on him”.

Can you tell us where Brown hurt you and maybe we can try to help. At first we thought it was trolling but now it’s becoming a sickness when he’s playing lights out and you’re still somehow not impressed.

There are some Boston fans who have been completely against Brown since he was drafted. I remember all the laughable calls to draft Dunn etc over him. I swear some of those people just refuse to give up on those stupid opinions.

Maybe Brown never becomes an absolute superstar but honestly he does everything you could possibly want out of a player. He is an incredibly hard worker, he has improved every year and he is clearly a very good basketball player. He’s also switched on off the court.

There is zero to dislike about him in my opinion.

Read on Twitter

I saw Jaylen retweet this and didn't know where to post it, so decided to put it in this thread.

We're witnessing something special with Tatum and Brown, if they're in as elite a company as Shaq-Kobe and KD-Steph. The fact that Jaylen himself retweeted this means he knows the two of them have got something going. I hope Danny doesn't break them up.

It's Unfortunate that there won't be an All-Star Weekend this year.
But, I believe that Jaylen Brown does make the All-Stars this year.

What's interesting with this kid is that every year he seems to be pushing his ceiling a bit further. So it's rather hard to judge. That mid range shot is so good right now. If he keeps working like a madman he might be an all nba player in 3 years.

Last night I was thinking that Jaylen was having his first bad shooting night when they flashed his stats: 7-13, 20pts. Truthfully, he was shooting 20% below his season average of 70+% from midrange.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Jaylen Brown is extremely difficult to put a ceiling on, he just gets better every year. If what he's shown this year is real i think he can clearly be top 10-20 guy sooner rather than later. But what if he's like Jimmy Butler or Kawhi Leonard who seemingly just add something small but significant to their game every year into their late twenties? He clearly has the work ethic.

Consider this jump in playmaking came with increased Usage and better shotmaking around him. He really didn't have an offseason. He was supposed to go work out with Tracy McGrady this offseason to refine his jumper. That didn't happen and yet his jumper still looks better but as he matures, as his comfort level in the offense increases he will become even more efficient. The counting stats are going to come down a bit from where they are now when Kemba comes back. That's just the reality of his Usage coming back down a bit. Same for Tatum but when guys like Semi and Pritchard and Teague are hitting their shots it gives Jaylen tons of options.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

In 3 years? He might get All-NBA as soon as this season, if things break right and he maintains his averages. Hard to see a 25-5-5 player (he's currently at 3.9 apg) with mad efficiency not making an All-NBA team.

Of course, it's very early in the season, but unless he suffers a Siakam-like collapse, I think he'll settle around averaging 23-6-4 with great efficiency for the season.

When Tatum is around he’s obviously the primary option. He gets assists because teams focus on him. Jaylen is just as capable of that, as we saw. It’s just that normally that’s not his role.

All depends on how healthy Kemba is. If he’s healthy, I’d assume Jaylens assists a game will be closer to 3. But with starting the smaller lineup, I could see him ending up around 7 boards a game.

Getting all NBA at guard this year is going to be REALLY hard. With Steph back, and the crazy numbers guys are putting up around the league, I think Jaylen would have to average his current numbers to make it.

Guard and forward are both in play. That said, obvious competition starts:
-- Giannis
-- maybe Davis (could also be at center)
-- LeBron
-- Kawhi
-- Steph
-- Luka
-- Trae
-- Jayson
-- Durant
-- Beard

That's 9 or 10 guys who each have excellent chances to rank ahead of Jaylen for 12 slots, even before we consider Ingram, Beal, Mitchell, Booker, Kyrie, Middleton, Brogdon, Butler and others.
