all those people that think we are in a soft tank, they played Vucevic 36 minutes in the 2nd night of a back-to-back and ahead of 4 games in the next 7 days, against a team we shouldn't beat.
They are playing to win this year.

The Nets are going to be great, but Jordan looks cooked at center.

Yeah, the magic aren't tanking they just aren't that good.

Not bringing in a competent backup pg tells me the FO is fine with losing. Obviously, Clifford would never go for it.

yeah, they seem to be getting creative.....fournier with severe back spasms? Mild back spasms? i mean i've never heard of back spasms holding you out this long with the best treatment money can buy....then again i'm not a medical professional

I mean who are they going to get? There isn't much out there. There's no money. We'd have to make a trade, anybody we have of value is going to leave a hole somewhere else.

I don't know what triggers them, but I've seen baseball players miss weeks due to them. I had them when I was young. I was put on some sort of opiate to relax the muscles as they were causing my spine to curve (scoliosis). I'm sure he could go if need be, but he was probably prescribed rest as treatment. Missing a few games now doesn't mean all that much if it gets him healthy. I suppose it is possible that it is just an excuse, but I doubt that is the case.

We looked quite good on offense, but it has to be said this was helped a lot by the Nets defence which was just dreadful. DeAndre Jordan looks finished and they got confused time and time again when they had to do simple rotations on D.

Anyway, Vuc is amazing, too bad he doesn't have much help. Cole is improving, which is good to see. Ross found his stroke in the second half.

Jordan Bone is lowkey becoming a tank commander, he is so bad. -22 Net rating so far.

yeah I had high hopes for him as a competent 2nd/3rd stringer but he’s just playing bad right now.

This team is just really tough to watch right now. I've tuned in for four games and between them I might not have even watched a full game yet. We aren't good. We have no talent. We have no hope. I watched all four preseason games, but by the end of them, I couldn't figure out why I was even bothering to.

If I'm going to watch NBA basketball, I can't really come up with any good reason as to why that should be the Orlando Magic. It's just an unfulfilling habit at the moment. I've been a fan of the Magic from the outset, but I'm not really the 'blind devotion' sort. How long do you watch someone struggle to open a door before you push them out of the way and open it yourself? That's how I feel watching this team. I want to shove Weltman out of the way and do his job for him, but I can't. I want to scold him for thinking that relationship building and continuity are viable substitutes for talent. I want to reprimand him for holding this franchise hostage while he tries and fails to figure out how to ably perform in a role that he isn't qualified for. In the meantime, we are idling. All we can do is wait around until someone with the initiative to take action is placed in a position with the authority to do so. This is our interregnum.

As it is, this is like watching the film Independence Day for the umpteenth time. It sucked the first time I saw it and it doesn't get any better with repeated viewings. Basketball is just a form of entertainment, but watching the Orlando Magic yields only frustration for me.

I definitely agree with everything you said. It is hard to get excited for a team that does the bare minimum to set this franchise up for any sort of sustained success. I still do not feel we have any sort of clear direction and that they are just content with competing for one of the final playoff slots and hoping for the best.

I used to plan my days around Magic games and make sure I had the game on well before tipoff and be logged in here to chat in the game thread from start to finish. Now I mainly have the game on as background noise while doing other things. The product isn't exciting for the fans and instead of looking to create our own luck, we are just hoping the Magic will lose enough to be in play for a top 3 pick. Of course that will probably not happen as our schedule will lighten up soon and we will get certain players back from injury. With how bad the East is right now, wouldn't even surprise me if we are in contention for the 7th and 8th spots throughout the year. Rinse and repeat of last season.

This is the truth. It's kinda sad that you can be as bad as the magic and still make the playoffs. The east is truly terrible.
