DJ played a great game. I was shocked to be honest. I wish he has more games like this in him. If he turns up vs big teams, that would be pretty nice. We still need a center tho.

Was disappointed with Shamet and TLC tonight. Bad on both ends. Gotta reduce their minutes once Kyrie gets back and sign new players.

Btw, despite the close game and KD's foul trouble, I felt weirdly calm in the 3rd and half of the 4th quarter and the reason was James freakin Harden. Dude is so legendary. Worth everything the Nets gave up for him and more!! Perfect perfect teammate for KD. These 2 are so unbelievable to watch.

Should Steve rest KD on Wednesday and let Kyrie & James develop chemistry or play all three and aim for a blowout?

Hello Brooklyn wrote:TNT guys really acting like we could be worse with Kyrie. So tired of these stupid analysts.

Im sure an elite passers/shooter/finisher will make us worse. LOL

They're scared for their legacy.

Whether they have rings or not, ex-pros get in their feelings about possible dynasties with current players. We should take it as a compliment.

All 3 players need to build chemistry together. Not just two at a time.

The Cavs play hard so I wouldn’t underestimate or go easy on them.

They’ve had a ton of injuries which is why they fell below .500 with a 6-7 record.

I’m wondering who they’ll start at Center, Andre Drummond or Jared Allen? JaVale McGee is their 3rd string Center.

Kevin Love is out at PF so Larry Nance Jr. has been starting.

Collin Sexton and Darius Garland may both return. Rookie Isaac Okoro should start at SF. With Cedi Osman as his backup.

I’ll make sure to get things organized, so this is coordinated and easy to participate in.

I’m going to pin one thread that will give a general description of the voting process and tallies up crown winners over the course of the season.

At this time, I’m thinking it may be easiest to close game threads after wins and open a separate post-game thread with a poll, so it’s easier to track our votes but I’m not sure. I’ll think about it and get your feedback.

In the meantime, I have some questions:

1) Someone (MDB?) mentioned something about having a “Knight” award in addition to the Crown. What function does the knight have? Is this a 2nd place vote?

2) At the moment, we’re only giving out crowns for wins. Should we leave it at this or do we want to give out “Jester” awards for bad/underwhelming performances when we lose too?

Any feedback and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for doing this, N. It's a labor of love.

I only speak for myself, I like the idea of one of the Big 3 getting the crown after each W, and the role players vying for the nightly Knight award. I don't mean to draw a line on the team, but honestly, Brown could play out of his mind and never even scratch KD's average game. Separating the two groups would allow proper recognition of stars and roleplayers.

The jester is kinda mean spirited, I admit it made me cackle! Maybe we award it after losses???

Under these criteria, I nominate DURANT for the crown, and HARRIS for the Knight.

Giannas is the least “superstar” superstar in the league right now. Harden was correct when he said this man just runs and dunks. Hits a couple of 3s, and is a good defender but not someone you can truly depend on.

I’m so ready for both to be traded with a second round pick for maybe a defensive player. I know it’s early but I watched shamet with the Clippers too. I could already see the inconsistent, non dependable player he will be for us this season. TLC is neither here nor there but I’d trade both for a wing

He played with a lot of effort but I think Giannas js a better matchup for him since Giannas is so damn predictable and Jordan’s lazy ass gets to do what he does best, hang back and wait for Giannas to rush inside, which he tried a couple of times. Lopez provided some quality shots but he didn’t do enough to scare me

I like the idea of the Knight as sort of a second place.

Not sure how I feel about Jester. Although fun, good vibes only!

What about a Pawn award, for the opposing teams worst player haha?

Kyrie won't speak to them!

Welcome, friend. It's Jarrett, btw.

You're correct about the Cavaliers, they have been a real surprise thus far. Okoro is an Iggy regen. Sexland has beg flashy on offense, and unlike last year, not a complete drain defensively. The real key to their improvement is their frontcourt. Prince only adds to their solid depth, and he relishes a revenge game against former teams. I expect this to be the one game where he looks better than he ever did here.

Finally, addition by subtraction. Their young, promising, troubled swingman Kevin Porter is no longer with the team. The Cavs can breathe easy now as a locker room. They're gonna be tough. I hour Kyrie speaks to the media, trains hard and re-earns the trust of our coaching staff.

He is the least skilled MVP after Westbrook for me. He is literally a taller Westbrook (which obviously makes him better for that reason). They both seriously lack many skills and just rely so much on their freakish athletic ability. There is a reason it's not too hard to game-plan against them. Harden to me was robbed of 2 MVPs. One to Giannis and one to Westbrook.

Great win but this game shouldn’t have been close down the stretch. But we are what we are at this point. I liked what I saw from Brown, poor showing from TLC and Shamet, DJ played well we need more of that type of energy from him. KD and Harden led us with their scoring and James is just an awesome playmaker. Lol at Middleton being their go too guy, such a shame.

First, GREAT WIN minus one of the big three. If the Bucks were gonna get us, this was their best chance.

Durant was consistently missing shots early that he rarely misses. That scared me. But once he heated up he became the unstoppable beast that he is, and Harden was just Harden again ... FEAR THE BEARD. :o

As for TLC and Shamet, TLC has been hot and cold. Tonight he was awful, but he's had his red hot moments as well, so he's not a total waste. Shamet, OTOH, was one of Sean Marks rare mistakes. The guy flat-out stinks. He needs to go the moment Kyrie gets back.

Lastly, as I said elsewhere, Brown and Green were two more strokes of genius. They essentially replaced Dinwiddie and Lavert on the second units without missing a beat.

Two more underrated, but brilliant additions for Marks.

Oh and one more thing, the guys on TNT were clearly disappointed the Nets won.

We are being portrayed as the villains, NO DOUBT, so we might as well embrace it.

Not that I am defending him because overall he has played poorly but Shamet was 1-2 from the field for 5pts. I'm not sure why he's getting ripped on here

I have some bias cause had he played a little better, we possibly would have been able to move him to keep Allen.

Still can't process what black magic Sean Marks pulled out of thin air and turned Dzanan Musa into Bruce Brown.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
