being traded or waived by the cavs.

For all of those who had a hard on for him... would you still want him?
Or would you agree with the cavs that he's too big of head ache to deal with?

IDK, hes definitely talented and I wanted to keep him when we drafted him but now hes showing the same bad signals he was in college.

Sometimes these type of crazies thrive and love it here though so he could be a gem for cheap type gamble.

With all that said I think I would take the chance at the price of a 2nd cause does have some talent.

Some players have problems outside of basketball that are concerns but are seen as good teammates. KPJ seems to have ongoing issues that can infect a locker room, more than just a maturity thing. No thanks at any price.

Kevin Porter Jr has talent but not enough to bother.

I think Casey is the right coach for him. I thought he was one of the best guards in his class.

Sekou for Porter, preferably right now. Put him on a plane.

I don't think he is right for us as far as giving up an asset for, but if he's free sure why not on a min deal.

I don't see how this happens if Weaver is really putting a premium on winning culture and a united locker room. I'm all for taking flyers on talented young players if the price is right, but this kid sounds pretty caustic.

Pass on less talented JR Smith. Negatives outweigh positives.

Wayne Ellington for KPJ so Casey has one less vet to play.

Someone mentioned in another thread that we should give them Sirvydus (spelling?) for KPJ

I mean, getting anything for him would be better than outright releasing him, right?

I think he can play, but I'm not sure he's worth the risk. The guy hasn't shown up to play all season and when he finally does, he goes on a tirade about his locker? He's too good to get changed near bench players? That attitude isn't going to get you very far.

I would do this if the cost was minuscule, little value 2nd or waiver claim. Probably means another stretch and waive so there’s that. Would probably try to set him up with a g league assignment though for a while if possible.

The Cavs paid us $5 million and 4 second round draft picks for Kevin Porter Jr.
Part of me wants to take him off the waiver wire just to stick it to the Cavs more.

Yeah, if the Pistons were to be even remotely interested in bringing him in for a look, I’d hope it would be as a waiver claim and not a trade. But I think they’d have to make a corresponding move, to make roster space, right?

Doubt they’d bother either way though.

I wouldn't be completely shocked if Weaver was interested in Porter as a reclamation project but its very doubtful. We already have Jackson and Svi who need to see minutes at the 2 (aside from Wayne Ellington). I don't think he'd even play and we can't send him to the g-league either.
