Agree that I don’t want Bam to limit himself. Three ball range should still be the goal. That doesn’t mean “take 5 treys a game”. It means be a threat from deep. Perhaps take 1-2 a game eventually to keep the defense honest. If he proves to hit at a good clip, perhaps that becomes 3 per.
Bam = Kemp? I don't see that at all.
Bam seems like he could be a ~25ppg scorer if he were asked to be more aggressive on offense. He is averaging 19.5ppg on just
10.7 shots (last year he averaged 15.9ppg on 11 shots). That is insane when you consider most people averaging similar ppg are shooting 14-16 times per game, if not more.
I think Bam is still finding the right balance between his individual offense with Miami's team offense. I think he could stand to shoot 14-16 times per game without having negative effects on the offense; that would likely put him in the 23-25ppg range. Is that necessary? Perhaps not every game, but knowing he can "turn it on" and takeover offensively and get Miami 30+ in a game would go a long way towards improving our chances down the stretch in close games.
