If Boris Diaw and Nicolas Batum got drunk at a bar and found a way to create a child, that child would be Scottie Barnes IMO.

You can't teach his defensive energy but Barnes still makes a lot of mistakes on that end. Those must be reduced if he wants to be an elite defender.

He would be ideal playing a complementary Draymond Green-type role for a team with a lot of shooters, spacing and ball movement. He could be something like the new Andrei Kirilenko or Shawn Marion.

I agree with this alot, but I don't think he's near as athletic as those last two names.

I think he'll need rediculous iq and he can be a great defender, but athleticly, on defense, he dosen't amaze me.

Jonathan Issac was compared to AK47 alot and brought very little on offense. If Barnes was Jonathan Issac offensive, freshman level, this season I definitely don't think he'd be looked at as a lock top 10 pick based on his defense alone like Issac was.

I say this also because of the Iggy comp.

I just don't see an AllNBA perimeter defender here. I think he's more of a two way play than a defensive stopper.

as a reminder, no matter how good an NBA prospect they are, FSU players aren't showcased like they are elsewhere so they don't play and produce enough to wow anyone. Patrick Williams, only put up 9-4-1. Isaac only put up 12-8-1. I really don't know why these kids choose FSU except maybe the academic requirements are next to zero? So anyone pointing to stats as it pertains to FSU players needs to relax. Barnes is one of the most talented players in this class and should go high lottery.

some players raw stats will never do their impact justice, both Scotties fall under this category

Barnes always passes the eye test when I watch him. I have no clue how far his offense will develop, but he's a really good prospect to mold imo.

he has some day one usefulness and a work ethic that makes you extremely hopeful that gravy can be added onto everything that's there if he's groomed correctly.

One of my faves if not my favorite prospect in this class.

Would and-1 this twice if I could. Really trust this kid from a personality/work ethic stand point and the physical gifts are there. I even think his J will come along especially in terms of catch and shoot opportunities. I worry slightly about his touch around the rim but it's just one of those things for me that goes back to how hard of a worker he is. Don't think it'll take him too long to figure out angles and he's gonna have the strength to finish through contact/get to the line.

I think he is kinda like Slo-mo basically, which is fine and a value pick late teens kinda, but I don't see any venue for him to be a top10/lotto guy really, or to justify that, great passer but he can't score at all
