I haven't read all the posts here, but I did hear Doug Thonus' latest podcast where he got into the Zach topic. I have to agree with his take on Zach, which is Zach, if he can continue to show the improvements in his game that we are seeing, he could be a #2 option on a winning team. If you haven't heard it, check it out, he does a better job than I could trying to summarize it.

I don’t agree with trading Lavine for anything at this point.

He’s still young and YES - still improving!

The ideal thing would be to fill the cap with best players possible next season and then we can pay to max Zach and go over the soft cap to do so

The only type of trade Bulls should agree is a Herro,Robinson and Olynyk trade. We have to treat our top players better. Lavine is a top player, still young and with a team friendly contract. He is not part of the core,he is the core.If a team wants him they have to pay.

Such a coachable star.

He's an MVP caliber player once he gets those turnovers under control and increase his crunch time IQ.

If he keeps this up he is absolutely getting re-signed unless he demands out. Might even get an extension this summer. It goes LaVine, Williams, Lauri, Coby/Carter in terms of core relevance. Lauri staying past this season depends on how much he wants.

LaVine and Williams can play together. Coby as 6th men is possible. The Vets doing their jobs and Lauri may price himself out. This team with a guy like Chris Paul would be really good.

This kid is ascending and, right now, could be a solid #2 on a championship team. Why are we in a rush to trade/get rid of him? He's 25 years old!

At this point it is worth more to us to keep him than trade him. The packages I'm seeing from people just aren't the time. He can help our team make the playoffs and give guys some valuable experience. Or if we find a way to luck into a superstar, he'd be nice to have. Trading him tona winning team with championship dreams will only result in bad players and bad draft picks.

Hey fellas. Just a quick question from a Knicks fan. I’m not sure if you plan on retaining LaVine and signing him long term (and if your front office views him as apart of the youth with Colby Williams and Carter).

If in fact your front office prefers to move him for some picks wound you guys do it for the Knicks unprotected 2021 1st Rounder + the Dallas 2023 1st Rounder + Knox?

Just wanted to check with you fellas because I personally would love to add LaVine to what the Knicks are trying to build.

It really just depends on whether or not LaVine intends to stay in Chicago. And I am sure AKME and his agents are having those conversations even if, as I understand, he can't actually sign anything right now.

If Zach gets shopped, I'm not sure that offer will be the best available. If Julius Randle keeps balling out, the Knicks may not even be in the lottery (especially once you add Zach). Dallas is probably a title contender IMO by 2023 so barring a catastrophic Doncic injury, that pick is likely a late 1st.

You guys are forgetting he can choose to walk whether we want him or not. Why not pay him now in that case? If he won't sign he must be traded.

You make a fair point. The Knicks pick in 2021 could be let’s say #10-14 and the Dallas 2023 could be between #18-24. I just figured 2 First Round Picks could get it done. At this rate of production, maybe the Bulls front office are hoping for 3 1sts or an established player + a 1st

I'm doubting the FO is trading Zach in any deal that doesn't bring back a young stud (i.e. Simmons or Herro) or a guaranteed top 3 pick. Zach isn't Harden and seems happy with the new FO and coach. Also, it doesn't seem like there will be a number of viable, better FA's available to spend his $ on, so the opportunity cost of keeping him seems low vs. alternatives.

If Lavine isnt commited to stay for team friendly deal 90/4 close to that range, we should trade him before this upcoming trade deadline because risk of walking off. Price should be 2 first round picks, one young prospect on rookie deal and sallary filler-expiring contract. That is starting price, Sixers,Lakers,Heat,Toronto,Bucks anyone who offers more, is gonna get Zach. Felicio should be dealt in package deal as salary relief for Bulls.Denver is dark horse if MPJ is on table. Otherwise G.Harris,Bol Bol,Barton and two firsts is minimum requaired. If Simmons is available we must explore ways to get him on Bulls. M.Robinson,Knicks first,Dallas first is starter for Knicks or RJ Barett and two Dallas first. Gsw should surrender Minny pick,Paschall and Gsw future first with fillers atleast. I am fine going any routhe with Zach except walking for free or 190/5 contract.

I think his price is around dallas 21, 23, and preferably least desirable of rj/quickley/mitch. Knicks 21, Dallas 23 works too since knicks will suck this yr.
I would get rid of him if he doesnt agree to a max extension.
His contract situation is a big problem and he has attitude issues he might not even return.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Return to Chicago Bulls
