Good. Now let's see some consistency. If he can do this and we know he can, why do we only see it once in every 4-5 games on average? And I'm talking effort, not results or scoring or whatever else.

After watching again his highlights I am more impressed about how he got all his points.

He scored on a variety of ways showing that he is versatile on offense and not just a lob/putback finisher (like Capela).

He finished three lobs (from Book, Cam Johnson and CP3), he scored on two putbacks, he created two shots (one in the post, one dribbling from the perimeter) , he scored two shots from long distance (foot in the line on both), he finished two great passes from Bridges with two dunks and got four points from the FT line (4/4).

And he did it against Wood/Cousins who are a good couple at C. He needs to build on this great performance.

I don't think it's motor necessarily. Defensively, he has been on point for the majority of the time. And he does seems like he tries.

This was his best game in his career, but he stepped on the three point line TWICE (resulting in a long two), which is the kind of low BBIQ play that gets on coaches and fans nerves.

On the defensive ends, his bbiq improvement is pretty impressive. He was a fat big negative during his rookie year. It was laughable how bad he let people just drive on him and not contest at the rim during his rookie year. Now, he's a legit smart defensive player. So I think at some point it all clicks mentally on the offensive ends. Who knows when that will come? And how long does the organization stay patient?

Second one is clearly a 3 for me. I don't think he touches the line. Anyway, it's confidence and being consistent with him. He obviously can be a good inside - outside player on offense if he wants it. Such games show his potential and why so many were for drafting him with Nr1 pick.

Yeah, it's funny...he was our best second year player since Amare, despite Book's 70 pt game...I guess just far higher expectations.

I think people forget his consistency from Jan-July last year....with a few lower scoring games but mostly really good games for a guy this early in his career...just scroll through the pts/rebs from Jan-July here....especially from mid Jan where it gets even a little better than early January....he just had a rough go down the stretch in the bubble and the first 11 games of this season after long layoffs in isolation and now getting accustomed to new players...

The Suns FO absolutely need to be patient with him because we never had bigman this talented in our history.

If he gets traded for a limited player like Collins (just like some on here want) or such I would puke.

He was out there yapping and flexing and all that too which was nice to see from him as a show of aggressiveness.

Underrated part of Aytons defense is he is so disciplined not jumping on shot fakes.

He had a number of them last year, but never had a 5 block game. But he had a lot of games of taking it to the rim and dunking it multiple times hard...he just got more lobs and the ball in position often last year. He averaged over 18 so had in the mid 20s quite a bit and averaged over 2 dunks a game so had those games where he had 3-4 dunks as well.

I think he had probably a 1 1/2 - 2 month stretch where he averaged probably something like 21 and 13 or 14 rebounds. If you just look at his game log from like 1/16-2/26 you can see he had 25+ like 9 times and 14+ boards like 8 times (17+ 5 times). 2+ blocks like 9 or 10 times.

I'm sure you don't want to watch videos but you can see the aggression there if you did.

I think he is starting to roll harder then he was last year but at the same time, it may just feel that way due what we saw the first 11 games of the season...and some in the bubble.

A poster on another site made an interesting observation/opinion. He said in essence Monti is getting Ayton involved basically at the expense of Cam and Bridges slashing to the basket. If that is indeed the case, what is more important, making Ayton a number 2 option on offence, or free flowing team ball, and damn Ayton's offensive development? I am not sure which way to think on this.
