Not exactly meaningful. I mean - Giannis has some awful highlights every game, and he's a 2-time MVP.

I just thought it was noteworthy. He seemed more polished in college. He looked terrible that first game. But you are absolutely right that one game isn't enough to make any type of long term judgement.

Ehhh. He was going up against Gobert and Favors. That is a hell of intro for a Center that isnt skilled enough to stretch the floor.

With the way the NBA relies upon three point shooting, I think Brooklyn now has the team to beat.

There is no way to cover all three of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Clint Capela had 27 points, 26 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Trae Young had 38 points and 10 assists. John Collins had 31 points and 10 rebounds.

The Hawks beat Detroit and they are 7-7.

In the NBA playoffs it is still all about getting stops.

Maybe in the regular season you can get away with gimmick offense, but come playoff time, on shortened rotations, how do you expect the Nets to defend anyone?

I am looking at that Nets roster and there isn't anybody that plays a lick of defense.

I don't see them making waves when it matters.

Funny thing is that the two games without Kyrie, Durant and Harden had enough offense to win over good teams. Tonight they got drilled by Sexton and Cleveland’s super impressive bench players who came from the trade.

Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince got revenge in short order.

Brooklyn lost to the Cavs and it reminds me of the Wizards losing to Chicago twice and Orlando. They’ve got offense with good interior two way players.

The Nets just lack depth. Double overtime is the greater story. The barely lost with no bench and nothing in the middle.

Kelly Oubre - 40 points and made 7 of 10 3's, 8 rebounds, a great game. Thing is, he always follows great games with stinkers. Is he ever going to get over that and become a consistent quality player? The talent is definitely there.

Whoa!! Yes in answer to your question, he is only 25 and he says he is just now getting comfortable with a new system and teammates

I think it's related to him being immature, and by 25 - you generally are what you're going to be. I still see him preen way too much after good plays, and that - to me - means there's the same immaturity issue that he's always had. Let's see how he follows up the 40 point game. If he goes 2 for 10, I won't be surprised. You see the problem - his own team never knows what he's going to give them from game to game.

John Wall does nothing but win now and is doing so with a modestly talented roster.

Too bad that Wood got injured. They were looking good with everyone healthy and Gordon playing maybe the best basketball of his career.

Weird. He had a statistically awful game (6/17 FG, 7 turnovers) but finished with the best +/-.

Dat... If Russ put up the statline Wall did last night we would demand Brooks sit him down.

"He was a +34 and put up 22 & 8"...
But he took 17 shots to get those 22 points, he turned the ball over 7 times to get 8 assist :o , and he grabbed a whopping 1 SINGLE rebound while not gathering any steals or blocks.

Yep. Wall's real impact can be tough to measure. I remember many times where he's had stretches of TOs in a short span by just being sloppy, especially in situations that weren't high leverage.

Unfortunately Wall has an off switch unlike Westy where he can be on cruise control and it impacts his stats negatively.
