Heat are the very definition of a "one man team"
Jimmy Butler (the star) surrounded by role players (everyone else), albiet very good ones. This type of team does not make the finals in any other season. It was like LeBron carrying that Cavs team to the finals in 2007 that had no business being there.
I think Bam qualifies as more than a role player.

The only way this post should have 26 upvotes is if its full of sarcasm, which I might be failing to pick up since I wasnt here a while.
If its not sarcastic, its a horrible post.

Just to show how insane the reaction was to Jeremy Lin at the time, I remember taking a flight and in one of those in-flight magazines that you can place merchandise orders through, there was an autographed Magic Johnson basketball and an autographed Jeremy Lin basketball for sale, and the Jeremy Lin basketball was more expensive.

So the guy balls when the pressure is on. Does he get called clutch? Nope...he’s a fluke.
Some people just gotta set everything on fire.
He balled out when there were no fans in the crowd and they were staying inside a campus environment where basketball was the only thing happening. It was impressive but definitely not like normal "playoff pressure". All I'm saying is he needs to show it in a normal environment.
Yeah like this year, totally different, normal Enviromental with fans. Your comment isn’t relevant unless there’s no pandemic.
Lol okay because a global pandemic happens every year? So he can play in front of empty crowds for the rest of this season, then what?

Re: Is Bubble Murray the biggest fluke in Nba history?
He might not even be the best Murray anymore
scores 4 garbage time points in the last minute when the game was over or hed be below 19 PPG for the season
but was invisible all 4th while Jokic put up 35/10/5
Ppl dont talk enough about how horrible his defense is. Dejounte, Demar and Keldon looked like Run Tmc against him

Holy crap, a logical explanation does exist beyond he went nuclear for some reason.

Oh man, if anyone bought that Lin basketball I bet they have major buyers remorse. If Lin missed out on the days when his signature was worth a ton he lost quite a bit of money.

Dragic played just as well as jimmy. Like he said they were far from a one man team as bam/herro/Duncan all had big games.

Re: Is Bubble Murray the biggest fluke in Nba history?
Heat are the literal opposite of a one man team.
Anyway, I don't see bubble Murray as a fluke per-say. I think bringing it during the most important games on the biggest stage is different than doing it night in and night out over a grueling regular season. Granted, the best players are able to do both. Murray's playing ~5 less mpg and taking about 3 or 4 less shots a game than in the post season. Let's see how he fares in this year's playoffs then decide if it was a fluke.
Also side note since it's getting discussed in the thread: Jokic isn't as great a playmaker as the best passers ever because he's a lot more limited physically, but in terms of raw ability to see & make a variety of different passes right on the money he's up there with pretty much anyone.

Re: Is Bubble Murray the biggest fluke in Nba history?
Murray is putting up pretty much the same numbers he's always had, and Denver is tied for 4th. I don't think he's doing bad at all...he just hasn't taken that leap into All-Star status that people thought he would based on the bubble. But he's got two PS runs now where he stepped up big time relative to his RS self.
And I think that's going to be the player he generally is. A very solid RS player that's just short of being an All-Star, who steps it up in the PS and is better than some of the All-Stars selected before him (like Kemba, Siakam, Simmons, etc). Which is fine, he's going to play well enough to get Denver a top 4 seed and then save his best basketball for the PS.

The entire Bubble was a fluke. 5 months off, then pick up games for the chip in a neutral site. That scenario will probably never happen again in our lifetimes.

Asked Jamal Murray how he was feeling. He laughed.
"Man, how am I feeling? My elbow bruised. I got a sprain left shoulder. I hit my glute. I got a big bruise on my glute. It hurts to lift my leg and run. But it's fine. It's cool. I'm always good, man."

Malone should rest him right now. We are 11-8, 5th in the west, the season is long, time to sit.

One thing I think we can all agree on: Murray is still definitely the most punchable face in the league.

Biggest fluke in history? No. But it definitely looks primarily like a hot streak at this point. He’s still a very good player and the whole story on his career isn’t written yet.

..all of which has him playing the same way he has the last 3 years sans bubble? Think the rational explanation is that this is just who he is (or about, he's playing a little worse than normal, but within range)

Last month, averaging 26/5/5 on 51% FG and 88% FT. I guess he fluked it in the bubble and he's back to flukey Murray an entire month right?
This is what happens when you set up hot take threads after a quarter of a season. You end up looking like a complete, well, "dummy". /insert laughing emoji here/
