If Jokic starts winning, it's him

Besides them, i dont even know. Top of the West (Lebron or PG) will likely be in the mix, but to me, they (and i mean Lebron here) only really have a chance if everyone else flops. He's like the default pick if the Lakers win the West. Giannis wont win, so anybody else with an MVP season (superstar year, play enough, win enough) will take it.

The Nuggets are underperforming to start the season at .500, but that is not indicative of their level of play (already having the 6th best net rating in the NBA, I fully expect them to finish top 4 in the conference once MPJ comes back and Murray steps it up a bit). If I had to make a bet on who wins MVP this year, he is in the best position to do so.

It's too early to bother with standings. Again, despite an underwhelming Murray and virtually no MPJ on the floor, they have the 6th best net rating in the NBA. They finished 3rd in the conference last season, and I see no reason to expect much else this year. The record will come. The level of play is more important at this point (given that the record will come).

You sold me. I didn't understand the extent to which how dominating he's been playing.

The Nuggets team is so shallow, especially when MPJ can't stay on the floor. Lets see if he can carry them.
