So... which free agents are left in 2021 for the Mavs?

We played 11 games now right? First 5 is like a normal preseason, rest we have missed most of our good players. What do u want? That 4 rookies and iwundu should look like allstars? He might fill some holes but he also created holes. And who is this semidecent big man u talk about? We havent had a single injury to our frontcourt this seasson that I can remember.

If we could get him for spare parts, fine.But I dont want mavs to be the team that overpays him this summer. Some **** team will look at the boxscore and throw him 20-25m. 12-15 is my ceiling for a guy like that, but not sure we even will have thatkind of money to throw at him without losing other pieces.

Crazy idea:

If we manage to somehow dump Powell's contract. Anyone think a Lowry and Derozan reunion in Dallas can be successful? Obviously they would not be paid as much as their old contracts, but certainly around 18 to 20M per I would think.

I’m ok with going after Derozen and I’ve been saying for a while that I think Lowrey would be a great fit here. If you can’t get Lowrey though why not Patty Mills? Plays solid defense, can shoot, and considering he learned from Pop he should be a great fit here in Dallas. If you can’t get Lowrey that is.

Its not as bad as boban, but drummond will be targeted in the playoff, and wcs and powell atleast can move pretty well if they get dragged out.

Drummond is not a paintdefender, barely a defender at all. And costs x10 of WCS and on top of that takes more shots then Luka. Would take like 2 quarters before mavs fans would go mental on him

You’re sick of WCS? He’s been probably the Mavs best bench player this season and one of their best defenders. Not to mention he seems to have figured out what he needs to do to tap into his potential. He’s another project big (former lotto pick) that Carlisle seems to have put on the right track. Powell and Boban I totally agree with though.

Sick of him on the offensive end. He has terrible hands and can’t catch, which takes away a number of easy buckets and assists. Defensively, he’s been great. I wouldn’t want the Mavs to lose him, but I think it’s easy for them to upgrade, and he’s easily our worst starter once we have a healthy lineup

What about Patty Mills? He’ll be available too in 2021 as an UFA. Just saying if they don’t go with Conley or Lowrey.

No, he doesn’t move the needle but he is a veteran PG with championship experience. If I’m the Mavs I’m really trying to get as many of those kind of guys in the locker room. Again, I’d still prefer Lowrey (who also doesn’t move the needle by the way) but Mills in my opinion would be a good addition to the team and locker room.

If lowry still was an borderline allstar, playing with another allstar(siakam) and a pretty decent supporting cast they wouldnt be where they are atm. I mean, people complaining about how LD and KP plays but they got most of their supporting cast in corona protocol and isnt near the raptors level until they get back. Lowry and siakam should be able to play a lot better then they are if they really are allstar level players.

I wouldnt pay Lowry more then the contract powell got and i still think it would be seen as a mistake pretty soon. I like the player but noone beats father time (not even dirk)

Pacers were injury on turner i think and not covid. Heat I cant remember actually. Dont think they had covid at 2nd january, but not sure. Think thats all 14 games.

It depends. Seth Curry missed a game for conditioning after being cleared and the next game, he put up 15pt on 23mins(?). He's playing tonight as well. If a player is hit bad, their lungs aren't going to be as good as before they got sick.

Yeah, a little concerned about this. I had it very early on last year and was wheezing for a few months. I'm out of shape though so hopefully professional athletes can recover a bit quicker.
