I didnt expect the Nets to overpay that much for Harden. So blindsided with that.
They could have atleast went for Beal or Lavine. Atleast those two are like 27 years old or younger. They wouldnt need to give up that much picks while they can stay competitive for a long time.
I mean Beal or Lavine isnt as good as Harden.. but look at how Harden played the last game. He has to defer his scoring, which IMO doesnt maximize what he brings to the table.
Beal, Kyrie and KD, would still give them an elite offensive firepower that nobody can match-up with, while you’d have better cap structure (i’d guess cheaper to re-sign Beal), less picks to give-up and better sustainable championship contender status.
