Stalled defensively but is a smart team defender and he isn't allergic to rebounding anymore. Ron Harper J is very intriguing since he's got the Jokic thing where he reads the game very well and has skill and looks like he could be in much better shape and improve laterally, Trevion Williams can't hit free throws or he'd be an intriguing 2nd round scoring bowling ball big for us that Siakam and OG and Nurse's schemes might fit well with. Donta Scott probably isn't gonna keep shooting like Dirk Nowitzki but maybe undrafted he'd be a nice scoring big longshot for us. Marcus Carr plays hard, is Canadian and might be a better pro 2 guard than college PG. Needs a few years of G-League or Europe to work on his shooting and decision making but if he's undrafted he makes sense as a 905 guy.
There is a lot of good stuff in your post. Ron Harper Jr. just really needs to get in shape. He is way too tubby to be effective in the NBA, but he has a lot of different Jokic-like skill and pedigree. I just love Carr as a college player and I agree he will be a great pro in time. Reminds me of guys like Jevon Carter.
The guy that I have more recently been doing a deeper dive with is Taevion Kinsey (Marshall). His athleticism leaps off the screen and he can score from a number of levels: 19 PPG; 41% from three; 3 assists per game. He is a SG, which is currently a position of strength, but he is no doubt a fun player that could crack the first round to me.
Maybe a guy who is forgotten is Scottie Lewis from Florida. Probably my favorite defender in the class. He is going to be this year's Matisse Thybulle. Just amazing defensive instincts and quick hands, coupled with great athleticism. He would be great in switch schemes, but he is not a big scorer so maybe he is only a fringe first rounder. Still, that defense impact he has is next level stuff if you watch any Florida games.
There are a lot of big shooters and wings in this draft. Guys like Livers and Wagner are well known. One guy I am really impressed with is Trey Murphy from Virginia. He is 6'9" a greater shooter at over 50% and he plays defense on a team known for its tough defense. This guy was on Rice last year so he was less known, but this guys scream NBA potential. I see him like a Deandre Hunter from ATL.
