Lets face it, Cubs fans...

Post#1 » by #1TKfan » Wed Sep 12, 2007 2:44 pm

the way we are assembled now, we will be lucky if we get to the playoffs. and if we get to the playoffs, we probably wont make any noise. we cant go on like this. a .500 team. i strongly believe we have the right pieces though. we are just not peforming. Lou need to stir things up NOW. not many games left.
soriano leading off is hurting this team. people might say it doesnt matter, its just the 1st inning where he leads off. wrong. that lead off batter comes up in key situations. its been that way ALL year. its getting to a point where teams are walking the pinch hitter TO GET to soriano. thats just sad. soriano cant even steal bases. he takes away strategy for trying to take the lead early. this guy swings at EVERYTHING! this should be a no-brainer. bat him 5th, lou!
or bat him clean up instead of freakin cliff floyd. floyd?! come on.
this would be the lineup to work.
theriot
lee
if aramis is our best hitter, why isnt he batting third?
have soriano, cleanup. he is either home run or bust now. if he wants to swing at everything, have him do it w/ runners on base. this way, if the cubs go 123 in the 1st, at least he could lead off the 2nd, if lou want him leading off so badly. this could work, cubs fans. im no manager. and i know every cubs fan has an idea. but lou has to change things up. cause we arent going anywhere if he leaves it the way it is.

and please. he needs to stop putting dempster in to close. he cant do it. have him come in for long relief. we need marmol to shut the door. if marmol gets beat, then you just have to tip your caps, cause you know it wasnt easy. w/ dempster, you give EVERY team a chance to comeback.

we need change NOW.

(just needed to rant a bit)

I think Lou may like Aramis in the 5 hole, so why not Soriano in the 4 hole? Theriot will get out of his mini-slump, and has a better OBP than Soriano.

Aramis is hitting 5 because Lou wants a left-handed bat in between Lee and Ramirez, so that late in games it messes with pitching match-ups (RHB-LHB-RHB).

And Lou thinks Cliff is a good left handed bat?

Uncle Cliffy has had a couple hits, but yeah, I said a left-handed bat, not a good left-handed bat. :P

Right now Jacque would be more fitting in the 4 hole than Cliff.

soriano, what? 0 for the game? 1st pitch swinging on all at bats.
this has got to stop. give him a day off and bat him lower. this is ridiculous!
