This is the likely rotation in meaningful games:

Starters: Kemba/Smart/Brown/Tatum/TT
Bench:Theis/Pritchard/Timelord/Teague/Semi

The hope is that Romeo comes back healthy and productive but clearly there needs to be a small move made to upgrade the 8th-9th man in this rotation. There is zero consistent scoring/shooting threat off the bench, although I love Pritchard there needs to be another guy who scares defenses.

I’m fine with the center trio but desperately need some wing depth. Ideally Teague is packaged with 2nd round picks for a good bench piece

Not interested in those 2 pelicans player. Lonzo Ball on his best day is Marcus Smart on his average day so no thanks. If only there is a big out there for the Celtics to get or another tall forward. Hopefully sooner rather than later it comes.

I think Lonzo still has development in his game But he will want a massive contract this offseason.
If we get Redick why didn't we just pick up Danny Green in the offseason. Same thing!

If PP wasn't on the team, I'd love Ball! On this team passing like he can is essentially what Smart is doing in his best games this season. Ball can defend and here he would have no choice on just focusing on that! He can't shoot but he would have so much room here he could get all up and through the paint with an alley to the cup, then send the ball back out to JB, Tatum, Nesmith (hopefully) and Semi (maybe), and Smart for wide open 3s!

It's early but Teague is not what I thought Brad would pull out of him, BUT Ball is young and does everything CBS loves out of the PG! Here his 3s will be so wide open, I'd be happy if he could get to 35% and put the ball in with clear lanes! I just think CBS could get excellence out of him.

Matter of fact even with Pritch, I'd take Lonzo on. Let their play decide our future starter in that position! I just want to see what CBS can do with Ball.

Lonzo can't shoot
Redick is toast

Wait for the Andre Drummond buyout.

What would people give up for Vucevic?

I don't think Orlando is looking to trade him, but if we could add him to Kemba/Smart/Brown/Tatum our starting 5 would be as well rounded as it gets. Would gut the youth, but he's signed for 3/72 on a declining contract and would be amazing in Brad's system.

Probably costs us multiple firsts plus at least Nesmith with TT as filler. Vuc fits into the TPE so we don't have to worry about matching salaries.

He's putting up 24/11/4 on .575 TS.

I like him (somewhat), but how do you get him without giving up any core pieces?

I asked on the trade board and first suggestion was:

TT, Nesmith, Langford, BOS 2021 FRP, BOS 2023 FRP plus we eat Terrance Ross's 3/45 deal.

Bit rich for my blood. If we could swap Grant or Timelord in for either of the wings, I think I'd bite. The problem is Orlando doesn't need to move him, so you'll have to overpay

And I'd still take him! Don't shoot here at all! Fast break or last seconds shots unless he gets to the bucket with no one there!

I like Lonzo as a Smart-lite player. Someone who'd play defense and distribute the ball to the guys who needs it (the two J's). In a vacuum I'd love to buy low on him. Lonzo can be a good role player and a defensive specialist can have a long and prosperous life in the league.

The problem however the is Lavar Ball reality show. Is dad ready for him to be the guy who earns respect doing the dirty work rather than play acting at being "the star?"

Can see Ainge kicking the tires on Lonzo. As others have mentioned, he could be a Smart-type player. His scoring is limited, but he can pass rebound and defend. Also, he did shoot 37.5% from 3 last year.

2 firsts and a rookie?

2 firsts Romeo and Grant?

With Tatum/Brown so good and locked in so long we can't even pretend our 2025 first has a chance at being bad, they're all mid-late 20's.

My problem isn’t Vucevic necessarily as he’d fit but my thing is 2 1sts now and then in the summer an opportunity presents itself for a player who moves the needle even more then vucevic but requires a lot of picks and we can’t get in the deal

Here's a question, if Vuc and A Gordon were available for the same price, who do you take?

True, but you'd still have Vuc in that situation and there's nothing stopping us from trading him for picks to repackage or using him as part of the package.

I think he's overlooked in Orlando because it's Orlando. If he was putting up the same numbers in Boston I think he'd have a lot more shine on him. Plus he's signed to a very team friendly deal and would have 2/46 left. I'd like to think even if we overpay to get him, we'd still recoup a lot of that value after a deep playoff run and could try to upgrade again.

Lonzo has had terrible coaching who seemingly refuse to play to his strengths. He needs to be the PG and have the offense flow through him. He’s a rhythym off the dribble shooter not an off ball SG 3 and D.

For a supposed terrible shooter he shot just barely worse than Jaylen from three the past two years. Writing him off is asinine. Lonzo would be the perfect PG to pair with shooters Tatum and Briwn. It literally couldn’t be a better fit

Vuc is miles better. He's an all-star right now and Gordon is a roleplayer.
