Re: Wiggins calls out Wolves org, says Thibs years were the only years where it was organized/things were clear
Not very surprising. We have talked about no stability. In the last 6-7 years we never had an identity, were constantly changing coaches, plans, ideas. Thibs was very rigid and stuck in his ways but he had ways and clear plan, it just blew up in his face with Butler and how he handled Butler. We have had young teams, with little leadership and multiple players in discovery mode with constant change, pretty much a recipe for disaster.
Warriors on the other hand have had their core guys for several years, they have had their system for several years, they have vets who know their role and can clearly give their younger players new, very defined roles. You know what is expected of you, you know how your team will play, you know where you should be on the floor.
Wolves are like chickens with their heads cut off with everyone trying to figure things out and inexperienced players making constant mistakes which cascade into more mistakes.

Said it a hundred times ... leadership. Wolves, like any team would, struggle without leadership. No team leader and the new FO does not seem to have established an authoritative structure either.
Wiggins clearly was not any type of leader - but stayed off the radar and never stepped up. KAT has had golden opportunities, but never shown the desire to take hold of that responsibility. We have had some quiet/respected locker room guys, but again, not one who walks the walk and talks the talk. Rubio has been outspoken early here on his return and the young players need that, but his game has not delivered the stable influence to go along with it.
So ya, Wiggins is right, but who’s he to say it when he was directly a part of that problem.

Wiggins has the right role in Golden State. They call him one of the four stars but in reality he's just a role player there.
And a good one so far this season.
Here he was viewed as a star to carry the offense. And he looked like one in the first 2/3 years.
So there's a huge difference.
But of course he's right in a couple of things.

Sure. We all know there's truth to it.
But it's not like Wiggins was any different with Thibs than he was amid all the uncertainty and change.

Yeah Wiggins stats really show how much Thibs got out of him. He had 2 of his worst statistical years under Thibs.

Re: Wiggins calls out Wolves org, says Thibs years were the only years where it was organized/things were clear
Wiggins has a very defined role in GS and is playing it very well right now. Still overpaid but is a winning, productive, role player.
We all know he’s right about MN. We have zero player leaders. As much as I love KAT as a player, he’s clearly not a player leader. Butler tried to be, probably too much so, and KAT/Wiggins didn’t follow.
Saunders clearly isn’t ready to be the coach that keeps players in check and devises specific roles. Partially because he just doesn’t have either the prior playing or coaching experience and partially because this roster is just bad.

Organization and consistency go hand in hand, yet people want the team to once again do the very thing Wiggins said was the issue here.

Well, the stats say Wiggins sucked under Thibs organization, both as point-Wiggins, and as third-option-Wiggins.
Is he making the point he can suck in both an organized and disorganized system?
I agree he’s played better, but I imagine he will get bored, and the other shoe will drop, like it did so many times in Minnesota. Right now though, we’re getting killed in the national press for giving up our 1st in that trade for DLo. Nationally they are saying Wiggins is the better player, and Rosas bailed GSW out on Russell. I think it’s still too early to call.

I thnk that too simple of a look at it. I do agree that GSW "won" that trade. Wiggins is a much better system fit for them than Russell and they got high-value assets in what should be a quality draft (they also got a second-round pick from us they flipped to get Oubre).
Wiggins can be a high-value role player for them as the 4th option, that's pretty optimal. In our case, so far, Russell is not a great system fit, this system doesn't do much to enhance his game or vice versa. I do think Rosas is thinking that Russell and Towns' games will have really good synergy though. If they can make each other better, that's a huge value and then for us Russell will be more valuable than Wiggins.
I think we need a lot more time to evaluate those two together. Right now though I think yes, the Warriors won that trade but I'm still happy to get off of Wiggins deal as I think we hit our ceiling with what he could do on our team.

I understand the initial reaction is to want to give Wiggins shade, but come on -- we all know he is right. We are the worst franchise is sports over the last 20 years for a reason. Under Taylor we have been dysfunctional, fraught with turnover, and most recently, led by individuals that lack experience and are in over their heads. The basketball we are watching this season is incredibly disorganized with little to no resemblance of an offensive system.

Wiggins being a huge bustwith his stupid contract is a big reason why. If had retained even half the value of kat wolves would be in a Good spot! **** this piece of ****! Should have kept zach!

Read his words again. He attributed his improvement to an organized system, but even under Thibs heavily-regimented system, Wiggins didn’t have success.
He should have attributed it to the Timberwolves organization versus the Warriors organization if he wanted to make your point.

I agree, and too many people view a trade as a dichotomy .. if one team wins, then the other team loses. Just like in any economic transaction, each party needs to evaluate if they are better off because of the trade. Both sides can win.
Like I said, it’s too early to call for the Wolves. Russell has all the problems I predicted, but we need to see if he can synergies with KAT. Also, I suspect that even if Wiggins is successful in GSW, he would not have been successful if he stayed here, and that brings the whole team down anyway. I agree with the national audience for now - GSW is better, and MIN is worse (especially since it cost us the pick). But Russell could be better, and we all know Wiggins could have a malaise at any moment and be worse.
