Sorry, that was an answer to someone asking about the Kerr quotes. But I will strive in the future to think Herzog when I post.

he needs to learn how to score easy buckets to get his TS% higher than 60%..Mcgee 63%TS, Dwight 69%TS, Gobert 68%TS, Bam 69%TS... championshop level centers in this league needs to be efficient, this is especially important when Klay returns, there is not going to be a lot of open Js for him to take. Unless we are planning to trade him, he should not be looking into developing his jump shot and post moves...

if he's going to come off the bench, my man needs to be getting more than the 12 minutes+3 minutes of garbage time he got last night. With Naz Reid and Ed Davis at the 5 he should have no problem getting 20 minutes.

LOVE his consistency facing up....I think that he's going to nail that part of his game. That's a BOSH like quality for sure.

The ONLY thing that bothers me a bit is what looks like a lack of strength in his legs. Anything off balance and it looks like he's falling off his base. When he gets down in his squat to defend he has trouble quickly recovering to verticality.

Along with that, he seems to bounce off bigger guys...which tells me he doesn't have a strong base.

It should come with time...but I hope when it does he no longer has sort of that gumby reaction to being off balance or being pushed - where he sort of flails his arms wildly instead of pushing back or rising up.

Picky observations....but hey. :)

He's at over 61%TS for the past 5-6 games averaging 13-14ppg playing like 20mpg. Not too shabby for a guy who has played 17 nba games and is still a couple of months away from turning 20.

Look how great Myles Turner has been this year and check out these comparisons to Wiseman from each players 19 year old rookie season playing around 20min..

per100 possessions:

Wiseman: 26 points on 51/33/62 splits. 13 rebounds. 1.4 assists. 3.1 blocks. .9 steals. 3.5 turnovers. 7.2 fouls.

Turner: 23 points on 50/21/73 splits. 12.1 rebounds. 1.5 assists. 3.1 blocks. .9 steals. 2.4 turnouvers. 5.7 fouls.

After a full year at Texas, Turner was a little ahead on awareness, was known for having pretty good hands, and had better defensive advanced metrics, but even he was over a 6 point net negative when he was on the court (Wiseman currently -12). On Wisemans side, he's simply a better overall athlete than Turner.

Not saying its a perfect comp, more-so that they were doing similar things at 19, and Myles Turner has become a fantastic player.

Play him and develop him or package him for a star.

He did a couple of spin moves into jump hooks in the first Wolves game.

Hope it's a sign of trying to work on some go-to moves and recognizing when to use them. At least have some semblance of a plan on what to do when he gets the ball in certain spots or situations.

Almost every mistake he makes comes from underestimating his current skillset vs. NBA-level players (remember, basically jumped from high school, no summer league, no training camp) or from dumbass rookie errors. The potential upside is very, very high, and the flashes are brilliant.

Buy and hold.

They can develop him from the bench as well.

He needs to learn how to play the clarinet.

Calm down, he's still in diapers.

My hope is that somebody gives Hakeem a call to schedule some Summer training to teach Wiseman the Dream Shake!

Seriously go from a couple weeks with Hakeem, and follow it up with David Robinson for a few weeks after.

That would be nice, you can even slide in some time with Tim Duncan.

I've seen enough to know that I don't want him traded. He's a foundational piece for the future.

I want to see what young Wiseman can do against Ayton tonight...was just lurking on the Suns forum and they are pretty down on their team at the moment. Missing Oubre, wishing they kept Rubio over adding CP3, and hoping Ayton doesn't get clowned by Draymond/Wiseman. Keep improving JW!

It should be for more than just the Dream Shake. Olajuwon actually has held a big man's camp in 2006 and has worked with players such as LeBron (who flew to Houston to specifically work with Hakeem), Omer Asik, JaVale McGee, Amare Stoudamire, Carmelo Anthony, and Kenneth Faried. None of them ever displayed a true Dream Shake, so I assume Hakeem worked with them on other aspects of low post play. Wiseman could benefit from learning from someone who has actual experience teaching others; teaching is a separate skill from just knowing how to do something yourself. But Hakeem now runs a camp for 11-16 year old kids in England so I'm not sure if he is still interested in mentoring centers.

They could also hire Kareem, whom the Lakers hired to specifically work with Andrew Bynum after the Lakers took him with the 10th overall pick in 2005. He also worked with Dwight Howard during his Lakers days.

I am not aware of DRob being hired to mentor/teach any bigs after he retired, but if he did, then that might be worthwhile as well. In the interest of time for those that want to "win now", I'd just stay away from mentors that have not actually mentored anyone.
