Won't ever really forget that one.
But tbh its this level of hot takery that kind of got me to step away from social media/forums for a few months, but decided to indulge today when I was bored at work.
You gotta treat it as a meme lol
I mean at least that one he’s only hating on one guy, vs saying George hill is the mvp lmao
I'll own I've said some off stuff too but this one's up there if its not the top lol.
Granted not nearly as crazy and it came up a while back, but from this very forum Lebron's decline was coming in like 2014. Then in 2015, and 16, and 17....and here we are.
I said lebron has 3 years left when I was in middle school and now I’m in my third year in college lol
Then again I was an absolute hater
Prolly the biggest hot take I’ve had is Jeremy Lin would be the best in the nba
Then again I was 11 and Asian lol

I'm sure I've gotten into some bad ones, and some look worse in retrospect. I've called people out on stuff I claimed was ridiculous at the time that probably wasn't as much so, but this one I'd say is lol (or at least past stuff wasn't like this).

TBH he'd probably be my top guy right now, didn't want to say he was a shoe in in case I'd missed someone but yep. As a big skeptic of his he's been fantastic this year.

Jimmy has played 6 games so far and missed 11. theyve had some embarrassing blowout losses including that 47pt one against Milwaukee. Theyve had other missing players like Herro, Mo Harkless and Bradley too but its mainly Jimmy. There were some bad takes about Bam being the best or most impactful player on the team but its clearly not true
Heat minus Jimmy are basically like a better defensive unit of those Wolves teams minus Jimmy when he missed games. Top 4 seed with Jimmy. Out of playoff picture without him

if mvp was offense only...
I think Jokic has been the most impactful player in the league so far.
Based on what?
Looking at PIPM, Embid, Giannis, Lebron, Kawhi, and Davis have been more impactful. You know what all those players have in common?
A. They're all two way players who are either signficantly(lebron, kawhi) or --vastly--(giannis, embid, davis) better on the defensive end.
and
B. They're all have better records.
Now maybe its all noise, but its also possible, that maybe, you should care more about defense. The two way players might not have the slashlines, but they do seem to be winning more.

teams tend to look better when their bigs can protect the rim, yeah

Fair point for davis, not so fair when talking about giannis or embid. Shooting+playmaking? Jokic has that. In fact he has even better shooting than the sixers. Do you really think Giannis or Embid couldn't do better on the nuggs? The bucks were easily the best team at the rim last year, --even without-- brook lopez.

Mike Conley is not the mvp lmfao
This is the problem when people look at plus minus data as an end all argument rather than a part of a puzzle lol
Or KCP is the real lakers superstar and I’m tripping lmfao

"The way I look at it within myself why not- why can't I be the Mvp of the league? Why can't I be the best player in the league? I don't see why- why? Why can't I do that? I think I lead in +/-. I own a +30 on/of rating at an old age. And I know if I continue to dominate +/- lineups and on/off what I can get out of it. If that's me going out on a +19 on court rating doing whatever Im willing to do it"

Literally just constant clowning of this mans statement for three pages we need 27 more
He said it so matter of a fact to, he didn’t say “this might be a hot take: Conley is an mvp”
Nah he was like

This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

What do we think of Embiid so far this season? Has he made the leap that his stats suggest? I haven't been able to watch as much Philly as I'd like this season but I've always loved his game.

Re: 2020-21 NBA Season Discussion
From what I've seen he's cut out the bad trips down court where he sort of slacks back, which was probably my biggest annoyance/criticism of him in general. Watching them but often in the background while I work, mad I tuned out for his 20 point quarter a week or 2 back.
The difference in Philly just moving Horford out for shooting was so big (and I don't get what happens when Doc coaches Tobias Harris but it's some sorcery).

Why is load management okay when AD does it but not when Kawhi does it? Where's the media outrage?

The games Davis missed this year are against bad or awful teams like Minnesota, Detroit and Chicago on a back to back ... The problem with Kawhi is the number of games he missed, like 22 games for load management in Toronto and he hadn't played a single back to back game before this year since the 2017 season .... Davis would never have missed a game against the Bucks(like Kawhi last year) if he was healthy

Kawhi has a degenerative condition with his tendons, there isn't some conspiracy of him ducking good teams or whatever people have come up with.
