all in all wiseman has had a solid season so far

12/6/1.5 in 20 mins on 50/40/60 splits.

The defense needs work but most 19 year old bigs don't come into the league with great defensive ability (see Ayton). Benching him makes sense because Looney is a better defender to start games and Wiseman can be more offensively focused until the defense comes around.

He had a really long layoff so tough to expect him to dominate the league when a lot of lottery picks are still find there way.

not many lottery picks have really stood out too much.

Ball is having a bit of a rough stretch right now.

Vassell/Williams look really steady.

Haliburton probably looks the best so far.

Even though Wiseman is rawer than Ayton I see him making some of the same mistakes that Rookie Ayton did on both ends. Ayton would settle for jumpers instead of using his size in the paint, just like Wiseman is right now. Wiseman also needs to do a better job of staying vertical on defense. But he’s so young you can live with it. Especially with the flashes he’s shown, I think he’ll be fine.

Wiseman does need to be a better rebounder though. Looking like JJJ smh

I have seen improvements in going vertical as well. Once he realizes he doesn't have to block everything to be a dominant inside presence. He has such a long wingspan just stay vertical and he will be tough to score against.

He settles for too many mid range (cut that sh*t completely out)
He needs to crash the glass more

But there are enough moments where you see the talent is there which is what you want to see his rookie year.

Bottom line, this wasn't the draft to pay much to move up.

Agree...and even if we did, it would be for Ball or a G we really liked

I know you were with me on the Hayes tradeup for a modest inclusion but even that is looking a bit sketchy. Turned out the late pick Quick was not worth the difference there.

Yea, I did want to trade up for Hayes if the price was right. The injury is tough and looks bad right now, but think long term he can be good still. I had my 3 guys as

1. Ball
2. Hayes
3. Haliburton

I really thought the Hawks would take Haliburton, or that he would be picked before Hayes.

Yeah the flashes are there for sure. I wouldn't worry too much about him. He'll be ok

Wiseman will be good and can def put up good numbers. Probably the safest guy in the draft with a good ceiling too. Just never made sense for the Knicks when we were picking #8
