What's really funny is there are Jr Analyst at these firms who went to Harvard Business school and is now spending the his day surfing reddit looking for the next meme stocks so his firm can get in on the tendies.

I just hope that the natural consequence of these short squeezes - that the hedge funds are forced sell their positions in other stocks to make up their losses - doesn't trigger a recession throughout the market as a whole. A lot of retail investors and folks with 401Ks will suffer as a result.

Of course it will, there will be fallout, there has to be. But our hope should be that funds throttle down their short investments and efforts, then collectively we should see a more reliable and stable market.

If this pimple pops, it is going to be messy and fully expect that my own investments may be impacted, that said, brighter future coming out the other side. I'd love if WBS continually targets over shorted stocks for the rest of time, make big funds think twice about bleeding retail investors shorting.

I can't say this with any facts, but I feel like anecdotally way more of my friends are pulling money from institutions and driving their own investments.

Now, getting your investment advice from Tic Tok can certainly backfire, no doubt it will, but just got off the phone with my buddy that got in on SNDL, AMC, GME and NOK early because he 'took advice' from there. Wild times.

Interestingly for the first time my 401k didn't go into my Fidelity accounts overnight. Every other Thursday night it goes in like clockwork. Not last night. Given what the market is doing today it worked out in my favor assuming it goes in tonight.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The pus will certainly make the market a less comfortable place for pus-sies. I don't mind if a little of the speculative stuff gets squeezed out. But you have to be careful. Pick it like that and it will never heal, they say.

Speaking of stock picking, I and most stock picking investors would love the assurance that an assessment of valuation (discounted future cash flows) is what determines price, and not whether a hedge fund guy sees a transactional opportunity. That's zit.

Fascinating what's happening. The real battle begins when stock goes up. People will have their own number they want to sell at. That's when everyone turns on one another (kind of). If everyone holds, potential gains could be ridiculous, if people sell will create mass panic and everyone will try to get out.

I've saved a lot of money in the last year by not going to any games, no casinos, no vacations. Tempting to get into some of this, whether it's stocks or crypto but too lazy to do my homework. I do own a bunch of XRP that's basically worthless.

What’s the best service for buying crypto? I see some like Doge are not available on Coinbase.

Ha! Just downloaded it a minute ago. I’ll be dipping my toe in after I get authorization.
