What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
Evan's a very solid shooter and overall scorer with an expiring deal at $17m. Many here question his fit with our younger guys playing a more uptempo drive and kick style. IMO, his shooting and size make him perfect - if he would just settle in as a spot up shooter. On the other hand, he gets paid too much for that and, honestly, is capable of more than that...just not with us. I don't know what his contract expectations or personal preferences are for the future but I would guess he wants to keep being paid like an 18ppg/40% SG and I wouldn't be surprised if he's ready to contribute on a contender at this point. At the same time, a team scrambling for summer cap space could sacrifice assets for his relatively large expiring.
I think ORL should move him asap for young, less expensive role players who look to be better ball movers, defenders, and (hopefully) spot up shooters. What teams could use Evan? what team could use his expiring deal? what would they trade for him?
I think ANY contender could use another 40% 3pt shooter, even as a rental. I also think Evan would accept a more limited role in the offense on a team where it's clear he's not the best scorer. In ORL, he's got legit claims to try to dominate the ball even though it's not generally a good team outcome.
Would PHI be willing to move Danny Green and one of their rookies (I'd love Maxey but don't know if that's realistic, Isiah Joe?) for a good-sized more proven commodity to push for a ring? Green's expiring and doesn't seem to be doing much this season and they are loaded with young SG's.
What would NOLA give for temporary (at least) help in the form of a bigger, younger JJ? From all accounts, JJ and Ball might be a match but I'm not sure that's what we want as Ball is probably looking for a big payday and wouldn't fit well with Fultz. Bledsoe straight up fits, but that's another guy with a big deal that we don't want. If they really want off of Bledsoe, how about Evan and Bamba for NAW and Bledsoe?
I'm interested to hear your ideas. I just can't imagine we re-sign him for what he could command in the open market.

Re: What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
Tbh Evan isn't payed too much.
His salary is in ballpark of Bojan Bogdanovic, Rubio,Dieng, Capela, Gordon,Eric Gordon, Bledsoe , james Johnson, Joe Harris... compliementary starter.
But since we can't resign him, trade is only logical option. I really don't know market for Evan and it's hard to figure out right now, nor there is clear reason to trade him today.
NBA deadline is set around mid March. It's sad, but expectable that couple of contenders will lose their key peaces due injuries and will be in position to make a trade to stay afloat. That's the time when Gordon and Evan both come in play for trades.
It goes without saying that any nba team can use great shooter that isn't terrible off dribble.
Real question for Magic is how execlly they will replace his production later. Furthermore devaluing already poorly constructed roster without any floor spacing. But Weltman dug huge hole to his career as president of bb operations with blind re-sign of Fultz and Isaac and it will probably be his doom. Fultz resign already has spectacular backfiring as he did not learn how to shoot ( shocking
) and also is hurt and out for 10+ months.
It's sad that once new front office takes team, team will be in worst shape than it was when Weltman took over. But it is what it is.

Re: What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
If we don’t trade him then this FO is incompetent.
On a more serious note, I really don’t know what we would get back for Fournier. A late 1st and young player? We’re cap screwed so it’s not like we have a lot of options. If I was this FO I would look to move Fournier & Bamba possibly together.

A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Re: What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
Evan, Bamba, Aminu for Joseph and Buddy Hield works based on salaries.
Magic get competent shooter on long term contract, stop gap PG, Kings get wing depth, replacment for Hield who plays poorly anyway and young prospect...

Re: What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
I think we can get more than a second rounder but not really significant return.
I think some teams will try to make a playoff push and also want some cap relief going into the offseason, given the economic landscape of some of this billionaires are in.

Lonnie Walker and Rudy Gay for Evan.
Money is perfect. Rudy comes of the books @ 14M
we have our a young SG to see what he can do.
SAS gets a veteran shooter and gets 17M off their books
Vassell is their young SG

Re: What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
I feel our most likely outcome is just letting him walk.
I really don’t see any team interested in Evan for a package that would be worth it to Orlando.
Do we take back a long term deal? Probably not worth it.
No one is giving us a first round pick or quality young talent.
So what? Unless there is another player out there on a one year deal and we just want to make a move to rid ourselves of Evan but that just doesn’t seem to be how WeHam thinks. See how we handled DJ for example.

Re: What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
It just cost too much to resign Evan to an extension. I think the FO will trade him.
Hope we get a young guy or a proven player to help us make a playoff run.
DeRozen? George Hill? Shamet?

THis FO?
They will overpay this offseason and resign him
The only guys they ever let leave are old bench players like DJ.

I think they are going to trade Ross in order to re-sign Fournier.

Re: What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
If we want to be competetive when Isaac and Fultz are back resigning Fournier should be our priority. He is much better player than Ross and Gordon.
Our only chance is trading Gordon, Bamba, Ross, Aminu. Other option is trading for Beal.
1. Gordon, Bamba, Clark for Derozan, Vassell
2. Gordon for Oubre, poole, wolves 2021 frp OR Ross for Oubre, wolves 2021 frp
3. Beal, Lopez, Robinson, Smith for Fultz, Gordon, Ross, Bamba + enough frp and frp swaps.

Not going to happen. If the goal is to make a playoff run, you keep him...If we get lucky and score a surprise (that somebody would give up for an expiring Evan rental) and we make a run, all the better.

Love 1 and 3. 2 ain't happening as that MIN pick is gold...I'd think our pick will stink too, so perhaps we include the right to swap (to us) rather than getting the pick outright...or maybe some other lesser pick back to them for the '21 pick...If we got #2 done, we could probably turn around and present a STRONG package for Beal and still have a good 20'21 pick.

Yes i thought about pick swap in 2, i just dont know how desperate GSW is to win with Curry. I see it that way: there is bigger difference between Gordon and Oubre than Russell and Wiggins. You could argue Wiggins is better than Russell. Man that Minnesota front office is atrocious, sadly they dont have much assets left. Maybe we can steal some future picks from them for Gordon ?
4. Gordon, MCW for Rubio, Davis, 2022( or 2023 if gsw doesnt convey this year) frp ?

I've been trying to figure out how to steal McDaniels as a throw-in before they get a look at him. Perhaps Beasley too as they are stacked at SG...I really like the fit for AG there as well.

Trade Gordon for expiring + asset(s), resign Evan 4/80. With Fultz and Isaac we need Evan more than AG, and AG probably can get You more valuable asset(s).

Re: What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
With the salary we already have committed there is no way we have the cash he’ll want to read-sign him. He’s already sold his house here so he likely expects to be moving on. If we can get anything of value for him, trade him while he’s healthy because a playoff run doesn’t look likely.

Re: What will we do with Evan Fournizz?
He doesn’t improve us that much individually and his role takes away opportunities from new talent. But, we have no new talent cos WeHam suck at building through youth. So we need to get rid of Fournier and prioritise finding an elite wing. Any short term set back can’t be much worse than we’re doing lately.

I'm thinking both...for prospects and as much cap relief as possible. I like (among others) something like AG into BOS TPE for Nesmith.
I'd love to package for a solid player but I'd settle for smart reallocation of assets.
