Very happy that he had a decent game against Gasol from what I've seen.

Re: Joel Embiid
Didn’t like the fall he took last night. Very similar to fall he took 2 years ago with the back injury during vs same lakers in Jan 2019 game in Los Angeles. He didn’t look right afterwards. Hanging around 3 point line often.

If it would help I'd give him Fri @MIN off. That's our best chance for finally winning a game without him.
Need him back for Sun @IND to have a chance. Otherwise it's a sure loss.

This guy doesnt know what he’s talking.
The key for Biid is his jumper. Ive always said this. And he should pattern his game like Dirk.
Ive said it like a couple of years ago how Durant on offense how is the modern day scoring C should play.
Biid is shooting 53% on 10-16 ft, that’s elite. Jordan was just shooting 49% in 96-97. Much worse later on.

I dunno - I kind of agree with him I’d like him to post up deeper as well. No one in the NBA can deal with him and that in turn would open up wide-open jumpers for Harris, curry, and green. Posting up is a lot of work but you can also run plays to get people good position in the post as well.

Re: Joel Embiid
Joel posts deep quite a bit this year. Usually when he beats his man down the floor. If he doesn't get that deep position, then he's better off facing up from midrange instead of posting from 18+ feet, which he was forced to do too much last year.

Its both equally important but shooting would take his game to the next level.
It also generates a lot of FT for him because the defender has to stay close at him where a euro-step from the face-up position should be illegal because there’s no way you can stop that.
Then if you notice down the stretch, his points are made from mid range, this also compliments Ben to allow him at the dunker spot. It’s much better than at the post where teams could double him and play physical at him where the league would swallow their whistle.
Its not until this season where he has been shooting and making a lot more jumper that he is now in the conversation on being the best player in the league.

I’d like to correct myself.
Embiid mid range 54.3%
6th in the league in makes, attempting only .1 less than Jayson Tatum lol

No matter how much you keep parroting you modernist bull, post game will ALWAYS be alive.
You want post offense to die, but that won't happen, despite all of the efforts of the league and people like you that want it dead.
Shooting the ball is not the only way to score, a center can score with back to the basket, post moves, and facing up, not everything has to revolve around shooting.
The key for Embiid is scoring efficiently from anywhere on the floor, it doesn't matter if it's shooting or from the post.

Thats why you’ll see him play more this season. Will it be better for his longevity? Nobody knows

Re: Joel Embiid
I agree a little with Broussard. Embiid at times this season is playing like a perimeter player. He sizes up and faces up defenders way too often, even from the 3point line. I don't think thats maxizing his game. He's not KD or Harden or Lebron. He's a legit C.
He should get more midpost and lowpost touches. But we know that's a easy double if we have Simmons. That's why playing more like a perimeter player has been more efficient for him, but i still think it's not the way to maximize his game. He could be even better with more spacing and players who can feed him for easy buckets.

I saw Broussard clip and was a little perplexed its almost like he forgot who the point guard was. Hes not going to bang in the post all game long as big as he is thats not his game, you also have to account for Ben who needs driving room in the paint.
I think he came in this season commited to opening the floor up more for Ben to do his thing and also Doc has gave him more freedom on offense. I dont mind the way hes playing offensively he has mixed it up and wants to show off his offensive diversity. The only thing i dont like is when he has a smaller guys on him and decides to fade away thats rediculous and a wasted possesion even if he hits the shot. Or when he has his jumper going at first and then he misses 2 its times to go back to work in the post.
He shouldnt be allowed to shoot 3 missed jumpers in a row and stick around on the peremiter to continue to shoot. Its up to one of the coaches to get on him about that. There our too many good coaches on that bench to allow it.

Re: Joel Embiid
Doc Rivers has been a god send for Joel, and the Sixers.
I think this year the Sixers will reach the ECF. They'll realize that they need a true play maker who can penetrate the paint but they will make huge strides. Joel will solidify himself as a clear top 5 player as he enters his prime.
This team is finally reaching their potential.

Gotta make you nervous that he's relying on it that much, though, right? I would feel a lot better about the Sixers offense if Embiid was shooting meh from midrange and deep and they were still playing solid ball. Don't like that he's gotta be hitting the best/most optimistic %s for us to have an efficient offense.

I do believe his shooting is real though. Ive always believe he can be the best shooting center in the league.

Re: Joel Embiid
Embiid is averaging 28.3 ppg on 31.2 mpg and at 66.9% TS. He is probably not going to keep this production up, either because his shooting will regress or because he will not be physically able to maintain that level of production. The question is how will this influence the team.
We are first right now but this is partly an illusion because there are not any really good/bad teams right now. Last year in the first 19 games we had a record of 13-6, the same we had before beating the Timberwolves, however there were other teams with better records so it was not that big of a deal. If you also take into account how easy our schedule have been, the team still has a lot to prove.
