Yeah I see Wall as worse than Westbrook. I think Westbrook improves his numbers this season.
Would have voted Klay if he was on here though

I'll vote for Westy, he's a mess.
2nd is Kevin Love. But there are a lot of close 3rds right behind him.

Vote Russ, nominate Dwight Powell.
Both guys are about energy and bringing it, but neither deserve their respective contracts. Russ can put down triple doubles, but he's a big reason his teams fall short. Dwight Powell is more suited to be a motivational speaker than an NBA player

Dwight Powell makes 11 million per year. Less than 9% of the salary cap. There are teams that have that much in stretched, dead money. Powell plays on the same team as Kristaps Porzingis, who makes 30m+, for the next 4 years.

Re: T&T board top 10 worst contracts - Vote for #1
KP is a recent 25 year old Allstart, coming back slow (like the year before) from an injury ... many questions ... yes ... extraordinarily early to qualify here (in my opinion) .. surprised to see Isaak repeatedly..would take it for Mavs every day ... edit..I also saw Hayward, !!! I would personally be delighted to take him and his contract.LloydFree wrote:daoneandonly wrote:Vote Russ, nominate Dwight Powell.

Lol It is actually hard to decide as you could make am argument for most of these guys.
Westbrook is probably the worst with how he actually sabotages your team just by being himself.
I dont think Horford belongs in this list. Klay Thomson should have been on the list in his stead.

Vote: Klay Thompson (write-in)
Nominate: Klay Thompson
This year, guaranteed zero production for $35.4 mil. The next three years, for an additional $122 mil ... who knows?

While KP does look bad now, he's proven to be all star level talent and there are teams I'm sure that would be willing to trade for him. No team in the league would trade for Powell, that's the definition of a bad/worst contract

I totally forgot Kemba Walker. He fits in somewhere between #5-10.

Re: T&T board top 10 worst contracts - Vote for #1
KD and Wall both look great post Achilles but took almost two calendar years away from basketball. If klay does that you're spending $70M on 0 production.righterwriter wrote:K_chile22 wrote:I'm shocked Klay isn't on here. I would pick him if he were. Who knows how long it will take him to get back on the floor. He's the same age as wall, 4 year max left counting this season. I think he should be the runaway winner here.
I'd vote Westbrook of the guys here. It's him, Wall, Wiggins and Dlo for me. More expensive than Wiggins and Dlo and he's been worse than Wall, and two years older.
Kevin Durant coming back so strong post-achilles means you gotta suspend judging Klay's contract to be bad, imo.
Worst contracts (in order):
- Westbrook (we all agree)
- Kevin Love (old, oft injured)
- Porzingis (the most important ability is availability...he's proven he can't stay on the court so $30M/yr for the next four years for 40-50 games a year is terrible)
- Horford (old, oft injured)
- John Wall (oft injured and lost a step, takes like 40% of the cap)
- B.Griffin (would be higher up, but only two years left)
- Davis Bertans (turning some inflated, shortened season stats into $16M/yr@ 5years is ridiculous)
- D.Russell (high usage failure, no defense)
- Wiggins ($30M/yr for 18ppg and good defense is about $10M too much)
- Draymond ($25m/yr needs to get you more production, no matter how good he is at defense and leadership)
- Kemba Walker ($36M/yr@3 more years for an undersized 30 yr old PG that shoots too much is not good)
- S.Adams (not as highly paid, but his role on a winning team for $20M/yr is nonexistent)
Honorable mention/guys to watch: Siakam (horrible value at $30M/yr so far), Derrick White (average player getting $68M@4yrs), Buddy Hield (SGs who shoot under 40% doesn't cut it).
Edit: OK more like a year and a half but the point stands

And just no reason to cherry pick those guys when we have so many examples of guys who were never remotely the same. I hope Klay can come back and resume his career and be 85% of what he once was, but just zero chance I'm assuming that today.
