I'm dumbfounded right now over this move. Seems like we going to play Brown at center from now on

1. We already signed a shot blocking big.
2. We are adding Shumpert because we had to make the 14-15 man roster criteria by midnight.
3. Bruce Brown at Center actually does work.

I wanted RHJ.
No details on Shumps contract. I thought he did well for us last season.

So we still have our injury exception and MLE left in the war chest. Hopefully we can bide our time til buyouts begin, but we have got to get the minutes down for KD, Kyrie and the Beard.
Welcome back Stump! He was a good guy for us last season. We just need him to play D, nothing more.

Re: Shams: Nets re-sign Iman Shumpert
Always a little overrated defensively, but still good. He fouls a lot because of how physical he is, sometimes at really inopportune moments, but he's still solid. Can hit an occasional 3, but a little too big for his britches sometimes and will start taking off the dribble jumpers early in the shot clock that usually miss.
Great attitude though, and he hustles hard. Good for 5-10 minutes and short breathers for our big 3. Best thing about him is that he's a versatile defender that can guard 1-3, and maybe even some 4s.

Might be saving that for the buyout market
Honestly would have rather had hollis-jefferson

Pelle is trash, hope our trio will make him look a lot better than what he is. I'm just waiting on Nic right now and getting impatient lately.

Just curious:
Any chance Dinwiddie makes it back for the post season?
If not the start of the post season, the EC Finals or NBA Finals?
I read somewhere (might have been here?) that he looks surprisingly ahead of schedule in workouts.

Little confused about this. What are we gonna do if Jeff Green is out a few games? Play Bruce Brown at backup PF?
Shump isn't a bad signing though. I liked him a lot when he was here last year. Just makes me wonder if a trade is coming.

Re: Shams: Nets re-sign Iman Shumpert
I like RHJ, but his lack of shooting is a real issue, and is probably why he's unemployed right now.
I mean, there's a reason all of these guys are unemployed right now...I think for RHJ, it's because he has no jumper to speak of, and that hurts an offense more than whatever he gives you on defense. I think for Shumpert, teams around the league just think he's washed up and doesn't give you much on either side of the ball...that may be true, but I think based on what we saw last year, Shumpert can still play some defense. And he's not a great shooter himself, but he at least provides the threat of being able to hit the 3, which forces the defense to guard him out to the 3. He's a career 34% 3pt shooter on 3.2 attempts per game, vs Rondae's 21% on 0.7 attempts per game.

Look on the bright side, GTR, in about a month it will be like getting a quality FA Center off the bench.
In the meantime we're inches away from the #1 seed without him, and having lost Dinwiddie too.

Probably, so pray Jeff Green stays healthy. Thankfully he looks to be in terrific condition.
The other day he was playing so far above the rim he was damn near jumping out of the gym on some dunks.

Re: Shams: Nets re-sign Iman Shumpert
Also, Shumpert being unemployed because teams around the league feel that he's just another washed up vet is less of a red flag to me than a guy that's 26 without any significant injury problems who has been a fan favorite everywhere he's gone being unemployed (RHJ). Like, what have teams seen that they don't want a guy that can play either forward positions and give you good defense, while being in his physical prime? Is he THAT bad offensively? Probably.

Perry at PF and Pelle at C off the bench with DJ starting. Makes sense to me.
We also acquired the rights to SF BJ Johnson:

EDIT
Never mind, I saw where we added BJ a few days ago. I must have missed it at the time.

Shump coming back is cool because he won't be required to score, BUT play that def! I'm more intrigued by the BJ Johnson rights tho. I like that a lot! I fuggin' love Sean Mark's man.
OKC Thunder fan, too.
