Lebron is still the best player in the world and that’s not even a discussion. But best player vs league mvp are different

Like Charles Barkley and Karl Malone won mvp during Jordan championship runs. Did anyone think Barkley and Malone were truly better than Jordan. Nope. Not even me. And I’m a die hard sixers fan. Barkley mvp was first year with Phoenix.

Barkley even playing a peak 100% is around Jordan playing at 85-90%. But when Jordan wanted to turn it on. He was simply the best even during those non mvp years.

They will finish 1st or 2nd. And KD cant win mvp with 2 other superstars and the best big 3 ever. So embiid is only competing against western conf folks for mvp.

If he stays healthy he has a good shot.

That makes no sense. If Lebron can with Wade and Bosh, then Durant can win with Harden and Kyrie.

There are many players having better seasons then LeBron. Why does he deserve the MVP while also having AD on his team?

I need to hear a legitimate argument for him.

The locks? Embiid, Jokic, Kawhi 100% better than LeBron so far this year. Couple others in the discussion.

Jokic is a lock for me as well. Maybe even Durant but yea playoff Bron is still the best player in the league I supposed until proven otherwise

I think its too early to crown someone an MVP or MVP candidate. Although its probably wrong, i think the games in the second half of the season tend to count for more. They are closer to the actual voting time and a lot of times the beginning of the season is not really representative of how good a team/player is, due to small sample size, not enough chemistry yet etc.

How does that matter? The MVP is not a playoff award.

Jokic 47 pts vs Jazz. 20 games, 20 double-doubles.

Nuggets 3 games behind the first seed in the west..

The discussion here somehow turned into Bron being the best player in the league by far. I was addressing that and the MVP race. There are a few locks ahead of Bron right now for MVP imo and I also agree with those saying "playoff Bron" is still the best player in the league..

If this is based solely on performance it's Joker by a country mile.

Does ESPN have concerted investment into Jokic since he was a high school teenager?

That's what matters at the end of the day.

Division series have barely played out. They won't even finish above Us, Milwaukee, and maybe even Boston by the time it's said and done. Save this post

oh it has been saved... don't you worry.

You guys gave up 150 to wash.. one of the worst teams in the association... the only award BKN is winning is if the hand one out for the worst defense in the league.

1. Jokic
2. LeBron
3. Embiid

Embiid has missed too many games. Jokic and LeBron play every night. Nuggets have the worst record but I expect them to finish with around as many wins as the 76ers. LeBron could win if the Lakers simply win too many games and he keeps playing every game at the level he has so far.

Jokic
Embiid
Bron
Kawhi
Kd

and its looking like a massive gap after them and Jokic/Embiid prolly have a cushion over those next 3

Dame, Steph, Rudy, Giannis, Trae, Jaylen (altho i dont expect him to be top 10 or anything), Luka

Whats strange is Kawhi is listed at 41x to win it.... he is behind Lillard, Harden, AD (odds wise).

Think there is some value there on Kawhi
