2018: Shai 11th, MPJ 14th
2017: Mitchell 13th, Bam 14th
2016: Sabonis 11th
2015: Booker 13th

With a good scouting staff, there's still a great chance of nabbing a great player there.

When you see the likes of Dame Lillard, Kawhi Leonard, Marcus Smart manning up to guard a ROOKIE, you know you've got something special!! He's what we argued DSJ or Frank could possibly be! WHEN he LEARNS defenses and gets stronger... boy boy boy. We got a good one folks and it's not a mirage. Btw, not that I'm surprised at all by this but RJ is also LEGITIMATE!! Whether via draft (oh yeah we's gots usses sites draftus picksus) or trade or free agency - we FINALLY have a foundation

thebuzzardman wrote:So, have the Knicks exceeded where the Nets were at last year with their "Awesome Young Core?"

Because RJ, Mitch and IQ seem about as good as LaVert, Allen and Harris.

Nets still had a Dinwiddie
Knicks have improved Randle, who is seen more as a vet.

Obi and Know aren't probably seen as all that great, but they possess some skill.

Wash?
Obviously there's a Dolan factor to overcome, so the Knicks "Young Core" probably has to be excessively better than what the Nets had.

Successful draft next year fixes that.

It will come down to whether or not we make the playoffs. Playoffs = awesome young core. no playoffs= missing something

Are starters on a contender. Let's draft some more :-D

I wouldn't complain about signing one either...that Gary Trent Jr kid, for example

Cade, Kuminga and Trent?

My heart would explode.

Dream off season.

1000%

also a huge Jalen Green and think he's a future star

Cade
IQ
RJ
Kuminga
Mitch

Trent as 6th man

and yes, I have Kuminga as the starting 4. defensive versatility and shooting. I wanna play w/ a stretch-4 (like Utah) and he's more so than Randle or Obi

And I think that's fine.

He doesn't have a role on the team with his current skill set. The pace the team plays at isn't ideal for him either.

He will need to work on his shot and defense in the off-season. Plenty of players have had break-out 2nd or 3rd years.

Until then, I'll live with the results as long as shows effort.

For all the crap I've given Obi

He played PG in HS
He grew 4 inches while playing a year in prep school - so that makes him 19 years old there. That's where he started to train as a "big"
Academic redshirt as a freshman. 20 years old.
Two years in college playing as a PF/C type - 22 years old.

He's a bit more of a project than people might realize.

There still may be an issue with future NBA position and he's definitely not the most "versatile" player positionally, but he has nice advanced guard like skills for a big - seeing the floor, passing, some handle, and then the obvious athleticism.
He's a project. He's going to take 2 full seasons to get to wherever it is he's going, NBA wise.

I would be thrilled to settle for Trent, Jared Butler & Ziaire Williams...but yeah, Cade, Kuminga & GTJ would be insane.

Knicks come away with any two of the 5 names on the list they are looking pretty good.

Yeah, with Green, Moody, Bouknight, etc. as well this is a really good draft to have two top 20 (hopefully higher) picks in.

I'm sure some of it's been posted already, but all the different clippers (players and lue) singing praises for quickley is so cool. The whole team got a shoutout here too:

obi will be fine, it's hard to produce in only 10 minutes.

it's clear he has the athleticism and it's clear he has intangibles, he passes the ball very well out of the post.

he just has to get playing time.

From your lists I see 12th but not 15th!

:D

It's ok. Buzztrodamus has the Knicks picking top 3 with the Mavs pick. And those who know, know it's around Mavericks stuff where Buzztrodamus is most accurate. :D

I noticed that in the 2nd half especially, one of kawhi or george was always accounting for barrett.
