Mobley is a Center at the next level. I actually think Mobley and Randle could excel together because of Mobley's 3point range and is lengthy enough to cover for Randle on defense.

I know Melo doesn't really like him but with Randle's and RJ's ascension, would it make sense to try to add a stretch big of his caliber? Do you actually buy him having a jumper at the next level? He's not really shooting threes at the high of a volume but I think there's upside as a shooter, since he's got pretty good touch. I don't think our defense would drop off that much. Mobley has pretty good shot blocking skills and looks mobile enough to defend the perimeter. I think it should be something we should consider since we really do need an upgrade in offensive talent over someone like Mitch. Mobley can actually put the ball on the floor and I've seen him actually find players with good passes. He could be a real unicorn type big man.
I'd take Green b/c he's #2 on my board
My top 5 in order:
Cade
Green
Suggs
Mobley
Kuminga
Once the G league starts, I'll have a better idea of what Green and Kuminga are cuz I don't really watch these kids in high school. I don't really see the point of it TBH. There's lots of guys that look like they're going to be legit in high school that look like absolute scrubs once they make it to the big time. I wouldn't be shocked if they eventually move ahead of Mobley on my board cuz they we're both pretty good in those scrimmage games but for the time being I've got Mobley higher on my board. Everyone seems to be super stoked on Green but he ended up having worse stat lines than Kuminga in both games they played. Isn't Green like 180 pounds? I wouldn't be too shocked if Kuminga ends up looking better at the beginning just from being more developed physically.

Long term he seems like he’ll be JJJ. Not even an upgrade over Randle. It just doesn’t make any sense for us to take a raw C over guards, when it’s clear guards is our biggest need.
How can you say that when we don't know what 3J will be in the longrun yet?
Long term he’s something like KP.
Thought I was crazy.
JJJ is Tennessee KP with a better attitude.

Ideally toppin would play pretty much the same role as Julius Randle, who doesn’t play center. Randle would be better with Mobley as well for the same reasons

This is the case of talented wing not performing well, not a bum who can’t play at all. UK guards are different in NBA and nothing I have seen from BJ Boston as bad as he has been would make me Close the door. I still see the ability that is tantalizing in spades. Anything past 10 is excellent value for him.
You must love Knox by now.

Knox and Boston don't have very much in common.

"This is the case of talented wing not performing well, not a bum who can’t play at all. UK guards are different in NBA" - so it seems UK guards turn into all stars and 3/4s turn into Knoxes?

since we don't have a stretch-4, which is the ideal fit next to Mitch, having a C like Mobley is the best fit next to Randle and/or Obi

Cade is #1 for me, but I'm really excited to see Jalen Green on Feb. 10th
he was rated as the #1 HS recruit and he's an incredible athlete. so bouncy, so fluid, can create so much space for himself to get his shot off

I'm just not impressed by the 6'5" SG types, it takes so much for them to impact winning. I'd be more interested in Kuminga over Green, he offers positional versatility, has a great frame for the 3 and if his shot is legit sky is the limit.

I see your point b/c some of the top guys like Lavine, Beal, Booker have been in losing situations, but I think that's more situational, playing for bad teams
I see no reason why a 6'5 scoring SG wouldn't be able to impact winning so long as they play under control, efficiently. I love big guards/wings who can handle, pass, and have a killer scorers instinct
also excited about Kuminga. I'd play him at the 4 tho b/c he's got the strength and length. the shot looks wet to me, so ideally he can be a stretch-4 at worst, who can also create his shot

He is shooting like 31% on super low attempts and 70% from the free throw line.
I’d take him just because I like the potential but I’m not expecting a reliable floor spacer.

RJ shot 30% from 3 and 66% from the FT line at Duke; you can't just look at percentages without context when it comes to OADs. Especially this year, you have to actually watch them.
Boston is extremely different from Kevin Knox; despite them both playing for the same university and being projects. They have very different games and played for very different UK teams, while having very different strengths and (most importantly) personalities.

Brandon Boston is just what this team needs.

In what world is 18% > 30%? How is BB like RJ? Maybe BB'll be as good a pro as Anthony Bennett (is he just about to become a star also? He's probably available but I don't see posts yearing for him) and lead the Knicks to a .333 season like UK is heading toward. Name an 18% 3pt shooting guard (at the shorter college distance) who has become an even decent 3pt shooter in the NBA? How will drafting a crappy 3pt shooter help the Knicks backcourt/create space for RJ and IQ?
Everybody is aware he is shooting 18% from 3 and has had his struggles in 15 games at UK. You don’t have to keep repeating the stats like we don’t know. Potential to improve is a thing that exists for a 19 y/o. People didn’t want to draft Lamelo based on his shooting percentages and team record in the nbl and you can see how good he looks already. I’m not saying we should take him top 10 but he would definitely be worth a shot in the late 1st round, especially if he fell to the 2nd. Just too much potential to overlook imo. I don’t think he would help that much next year especially with Thibs as coach who won’t even start a seasoned rookie who plays great like Quickley over the likes of Payton, but it would be more of a long term development project
