Orlando needs SF depth moving forward and he looks like he could be a nice second rookie behind the high pick Orlando will also select.

SF Depth? we need a legit starting SF.

They do need a starter there. But he wasn't suggesting they didn't.

All he was saying was that if the Magic trade Fournier and get a 1st rounder back in the 20-30 range, they could use THAT pick on additional wing depth.

New mock has us at the 4 spot.
Another thing that is lost on me, until I saw this.
We will have a very good 2nd round pick too, I've been looking at the 1st round so much, that I forget about the 2nd.
Great spot to take a shot on someone.

The mock has us taking Jalen Suggs at #4
and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (a PF from Villanova)

This is the draft class to try and cash in on trading a player + 2nd rounder for a late first.

There will be very quality talent outside the lottery.

We have a chance this year to snag a FRANCHISE STAR + a quality role player / starter.

Pair those with Fultz + Isaac + Vuc + Cole (maybe Chuma / Bamba) and we might have a team.

If he’s there, I’m really growing more and more excited about the idea of Cade Cunningham for Orlando.

For me it is always about BPA first and foremost but I just can’t decide on BPA between the top 5 names given we haven’t seen much of 2 of them and 3 of them are so special. So I turn to fit as the tie breaker ...

Fultz, Cole
Cade (secondary ball handler), Ross
Isaac, Bacon
AG, Chuma
Vuc, Bamba / Birch

... I still prefer moving AG and either adding a true Stretch-4 or sliding Isaac to PF and getting a better shooter at SF.

But adding Cade, getting Isaac back, removing Evan and getting Cole as the leader of the 2nd unit does a lot for this roster.

I dont see many interesting players after top 5. Not worth tanking for at least. Last year was much stronger than advertised. Lewis, Anthony, Haliburton in the middle of first round seems stronger than this years class.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

I'd say we aren't really tanking and in the bottom five currently.
I think there are some really good players in the top 12 beyond the top 5.

I think there is a moderate chance we will end up with top 5 pick. Even without a trade our team is toasted with all the injuries. Which players you have in mind ? I see some interesting ones, but hardly anyone projected to be as good as AG or Fournier currently ( sadly)

This team need two new starters for the next opening night, and perhaps three if Anthony is not a starter.

But the bench is also horrible. A player like Kispert has the potential to be a huge upgrade over Ennis, Clark, Bacon and whatever marginal players that can be considered.

I am high on Kispert because he is elite at an NBA skill. That must be worth a late-teens to early 20s selection.

Orlando will again emerge as amongst the youngest team in the NBA next year. Anthony, Okeke, and two-to-three rookies could all get major minutes next year. Yuck.

Cade Cunningham is the multi-positional player the Magic management has tended to favor. Can he emerge as a starter at SG next to Fultz? Sure.

This is exactly the type of move the Magic can make at the margins. Aminu and a high second for cap-relief and a low-first is an upgrade for a contender pushing all-in (Philly or Boston?) and Orlando needs rookie upgrades. There are some interesting names late in the first beyond just Corey Kispert. Ochai Agbaji, Quentin Grimes, and Ayo Dosunmu all look to be serviceable SG back-ups. Orlando needs that more than Aminu and a 2nd.

Right now, we can't make any assumptions about Aminu until he gets some PT. AG's injury could be a blessing in disguise in that, if Aminu is healthy, he will get VET PT from Clifford. If he plays well and his trade value goes up. Right now, until proven otherwise, Aminu is empty paper with zero trade value...I think he has been a good player in the past and probably will again. He has certainly been given enough time to heal up. Fingers crossed. I do think he's the kind of tough vet a playoff team might value.

This is clearly a top 5 draft. I'm ready for the Magic to end up 6. Basketball gods love playing tricks on us.

I like Barnes, Moody and Kispert, but I really hope we aren't drafting in that range.

This FO\coaching staff will NOT go into next year with more than 2 rookies, and even then i could see them selling our 2nd rounder

They will use isaac\fultz returns as reasons to not bring more young players

Well, there will be change.
Evan, Ennis and Birch are Free agents.
Evan wants to win, and I think the other 2 can find more money elsewhere.
Problem is we are still up against the CAP if all these just walk.
That is why I'd like AG or Ross (or Chief, but that ain't happening) moved before Evan.
If we can get a pick and an expiring and get some cap room, it would help balance the roster.

AG for Rudy Gay and Lonnie Walker. Gay's 14M comes off, and we add a young SG.

Should we prepare for the 6-10 range as well? If so.. I only followed Zaire, Greg and Jalen Johnson.. who is your pick outside the top-5?

Im mentally prepared to pick 15th again and im not getting attached to any player. I dont care who we pick or when we pick them I'm done.

15th? You think we can win more games with our decimated roster?
No im just mentally prepared for something crazy to happen where we end up picking 15th. Logically we'll be worse but our luck has been awful.

We’re in a pickle. We will will finish with a top 5 pick but we don’t want this FO making the pick? And we certainly don’t want Clifford coaching it. They need to go long before the draft.

Return to Orlando Magic
