De'Andre Hunter should get some attention if he continues to impress on both sides of the ball.

Jerami and Wood improved but they were capable of this before specially Wood. Their minutes/role have just gone way up. Jerami up 10 minutes a game from last year. Wood up 12 minutes a game from last year basically playing a quarter more ball

Jaylen has actually improved his game in tangible ways everywhere. Hes actually playing LESS minutes than he did last year but his numbers and efficiency are up practically everywhere. And just watching him play, his Iq, handle and general know how have all greatly improved. The other 2 are a classic case of "these guys couldve done this the season before if they had a bigger role/more minutes". Jaylen isnt like that when Jayson missed games last season he wasnt capable of taking over the offense like hes shown this season

Guys who just signed 4yr / $115 mm contracts don't win MIP awards lol.
No way you can use THAT arguement as he was massively overpaid :noway:

Well he's obviously not in the MIP discussion, and he doesn't have a chance for 6th Man if Clarkson keeps it up.

why obviously?

I mean how is going to compete with Christian Wood or Jerami Grant for MIP?

Jaylen Brown has to be in the running for MIP. I mean improved stats aside, he was not even included in the All Star last year despite having an all star worthy performance, to being considered as All Star starter this season.

For 6th man, Jordan Clarkson is an early consideration so far.

Meh, he's not even top 5 thus far.

This is someone else's list, which I agree with.

1. Grant
2. Wood
3. Brown
4.Randle
5. Sexton

I mean sure, some local media guy in Phoenix will probably give him a vote, but he's not going to garner serious attention, so my point is that it's not insane that he's not being brought up by others in this thread.

Malik Beasley should be on any lists, even if he likely should not win (mostly due to team record):

31.6 minutes per game

20.2 PPG - 50.6% from 2 - 38.4% from 3 (on 7.7 attempts) - 87% FT (2.8 attempts)
4.8 rebounds - 2.2 assists per game

Clarkson has 6MOTY on lock

I THINK Wood has the MIP narrative, but Grant could get it

Who's getting ROY and DPOTY?

his stats are down from last year in pretty much everything, ppg, %, 3pt% so why would he be on any list? :D

If they will consider team success which i think they will then Wood is the favorite so far. For the last ten years i think the only player to win it on a losing team was Ingram last year.
But personally i would give it to Brown; developed his game even more while playing the same minutes and on a contending team.

ROY- i guess Ball so far, with few others that can win it by the end

DPOTY- i think Davis or Embiid(if he doesnt win MVP)

Personally, I feel that lottery picks should be disqualified from attaining MIP. Top 5 at least.

It cheapens the award a bit

Lauri Markkanen needs to at least be in the discussion for MIP. He's averaging 20 a game on nearly 50/40/90 shooting splits (FT is only at 85%...as a 7 foot big. He also has a 65 TS% and is shooting over 80% on at the rim attempts, and he doesn't even dunk that much.

Thaddeus Young is redefining himself as a player right now and he's got a strong case for the 6th man award if Bulls make the playoffs. The Bulls offense directs through Thad's sudden ability to create plays in the high post.It just came out of nowhere but it's fun to watch.

I would argue that Bridges has shown normal improvement for a 3rd year player, but not even close to MIP level improvement.

MIP - I have C. Wood. Can understand the argument for Grant, but he's essentially the focus point for the Pistons in an otherwise very average team. Wood has made amore impressive leap for me, from a journey man, to a legit 2/3rd option

6MOTY - Patty Mills. His scoring has improved this year as he's bought Boomer Patty to the NBA. He also is the cultural heartbeat of the Spurs

MIP Wood

Every betting site I looked at tonight has Clarkson as the odds on favorite, by a lot. I agree
