He was drafted by Atlanta to be molded into a unique jumbo swing 3/D type. His measurables are elite. But he is just too inconsistent, especially with his shot. If your an elite talent, you can afford some inconsistencies. But as a 3/D type you need to be able to execute the few times the ball comes your way. He just cant, yet.

Still, a 6'8 lanky athletic SG/SF is always going to be in demand. Even if he flames out in ATL after 3 years (He gets at least 3 years there), I would expect him 2 more chances as teams love to buy low on guys like him.

But, ya, I think he has rich mans SG/SF version of DFS upside. Not really going to be elite or anything.

I know your a troll but Hunter has been really good. 2019 was basically the top-2 guys and then a huge talent leveling. Only guy in the rest of R1 that I would maybe take over Hunter is Herro. Might amend that soon to put Keldon Johnson as well, but too early.

That's an insult to Wiggins, who can at least play basketball. Cam Reddish is a historically bad shooter. Like he may go down as the worst shot maker in the history of the game, and he's somehow gotten worse. At the time of his draft, only one other lottery picks shot under 40% the year they were drafted since 2010. That player was Michael Carter Williams who shot 39.3%. Reddish shot 35.6% from the field.

Hunter took the next step but Reddish looks like the exact same player as last year. NGL when you don't improve at all in your 2nd year. I'll be shocked if he even turns out to be a good roleplayer. He reminds me of Josh Jackson in that he he can't shoot and his defense is massively overrated. Reddish is a decent FT shooter though, so I'm surprised he's been so terrible from 3. Dude is shooting 26% on 5 attempts a game. Wild.

The guy shot 36/33 in college while not scoring that much, same thing in the NBA so far. Saying his ceiling is higher than Luka is just meaningless, that's one of those fake ceilings that some fans create.

What is his actual realistic ceiling, not the imaginary, "if he drastically improves at every single aspect of basketball" ceiling?

We had same thread last year in the beggining at that season, and then he got better. That said, I always hated how NBA teams waste high picks on terrible Euro players, but it seems with Reddish, instead of learning, NBA offices are going further and drafting terrible college players with high draft picks.

IMO, lack of fans, lack of distractions, lack of travel were a huge advantage for young players who might have been more adversely affected by packed houses and NBA travel schedule. Shooting was also much easier in empty arenas. Heat are loaded with young players who all played a shot very well in the bubble.

I am giving an asterisk to every individual performance in the bubble until those players/teams prove they can do the same thing outside the bubble.

you haven't watched him play if you think his defense is massively overrated. He's actually played really good defense. Did a fine job on Lebron the other night, about as well as you can.
