Wait.. we really are declaring a bum/bust rookie at this stage of the season?

Anthony has already proven he has value as a #16 section. If he emerges as a 4-year back-up PG, then he was a good pick.

I admit at times he looked like the worst player I've ever seen on court early in the season, but I feel like people are too tough on him. just let the guy get coached with the team for a year at least before making judgement calls.

I'm not at all worried about a first year player who shows as much promise as this one.
The second year is when we can start to worry.
But what's up with his +/- always being amongst the lowest on the team?
Is that just because we're losing every game or is he just a stat-stuffer?
I haven't been able to watch any games.

Not sure if you're using small sample sizes but his +/- is pretty decent considering he's a rookie. Pretty much in the middle for the team.

The biggest step in Cole's future development is figuring out how to finish better against contests at the rim.
I believe in his shooting. I really like his aggressiveness as a rebounder. I like his effort as a defender even if the tangible results aren't there yet.
But he's gotta figure out the finishing part. He's needs to learn how to make his athleticism more functional in traffic. I'm not sure if that's him learning how to jump off one foot or figuring out new how to make enough space to load up off two feet or what it is, but that's the next step.

Over the last 10 games he is averaging 12/4/4 and shooting over 40% from FG and 3PT.

Slowly becoming more efficient. The goal of the season is for him to work these kinks out before the start of '21-'22. He's the presumptive starter for he first 3 months of next season. So it's important to get him reps and get him ready for October.

Cole looked great. I also like Mason to give Cole a break and maybe a little young vet advice about adjustments he’s had to make as an undersized HS and college student adapting to NBA play. Mason is no threat to take over but looks like a nice complement to Cole.

Cole as a starter (15 games): 30.1 MPG, 12.7 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 4.1 APG, .418 FG, .386 3PT%, .515 TS%
Cole as a starter with Fournier at SG (9 games): 31.5 MPG, 13.2 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 4.8 APG, .489 FG%, .517 3PT%, .600 TS%
It's really too bad that it's already been decided he's terrible

Cole about a week away from passing Fournier in 3pt and ft percentage.

Cole is never handing the starting pg role back. His shooting will be too valuable.

If by next season you tell me that we trot a lineup of Cole, Fultz and Cade in the back while we have JI and Vuc upfront in the starting lineup, I would be celebrating. 3 guys that can handle the ball and can take it to the rim while the shortest is 6'3 and the tallest is 6'8 means that we won't get killed defensively while maintaining our offense.

LOL! It is cute you think we will get a top 8 pick.
