Hey... he's on a roll!

Plus, I read somewhere that b/c he couldn't get another NBA job, Sam Hinkie had moved to France & was now sporting a beret, smoking Gauloises, & eating Bavettes de canard aux oignons verts et au xérès.

That's one of my favorite dishes, btw, & I got it with a late pick too.

In fact, I traded Beef Wellington for the Bavettes plus Clafoutis for dessert & a large pot of Cassoulet to put in the freezer for the following week.

Hey, if you can't stand the Heat, get out of pif's kitchen.

This of course is a trap game for the Wizzes.

I would assume the rotation is something like this tonight:

Westbrook Ish
Beal Mathews
Avdija Brown
Hachimura Bertans
Lopez Len/Wagner

If we don't see Brown get 20 minutes, I'll be disappointed. My gut says Wagner's going to be the odd man out - because Len hasn't been terrible. Personally, I think Wagner should get the most minutes of the centers.

The question is, has Brown earned himself a spot in the regular rotation? In the last 3 games games, Brooks shortened the bench and went with a 9-man rotation. (Well, sometimes 10 if he plays all 3 centers.) He only played 3 forwards, with Bertans going back and forth between SF and PF.

I doubt we will see 20 minutes of Brown, if he plays at all.

He has been playing Bertans more minutes lately, without trimming Hachimura's minutes. So Bertans is getting at least 10-15 minutes at SF, which leaves very little for Brown.

I don't think there are guard minutes for Brown unless he benches Mathews. He definitely won't bench Westbrook, Beal or Ish.

I can't really hate Brooks if that's the way things shake out. Mathews has definitely earned his minutes, and so has Ish (last game not withstanding).

I think Ish should be phased out some - when he's hot, he's fine, but his jump push shot is not reliable enough. They need to develop Brown better, and he probably should be rewarded for a strong game. Ish's eFG is barely over 40%.

My two cents: ish has been good this year, but developing Brown Jr is far more important

He can't really play 5 guards. the bench guys won't have enough minutes to get into a rhythm. He's got to pick 2 among Ish, Mathews and Brown.

I understand the logic of playing Brown because he is (possibly) part of the future and Ish is not; but I seriously doubt that's the way Brooks looks at it. Brooks is head coach of a 5-13 team that desperately needs every win it can get. Ish has been better than Brown this year and has been the engine of most of our 2nd unit comebacks. Brooks will side with Ish.

The issue is compounded by the fact that the 2nd unit will work better with Ish from a chemistry standpoint because everyone else on the 2nd unit is a complementary offensive player who is dependent on a PG to spoon-feed them. Brown isn't that type of PG. If Brown is to play over Ish, it's actually makes more sense to start him (alongside Beal) and have Westbrook captain the 2nd unit. But we both know that's not going to happen.

I initially read as Westbrookish, which seems like it could catch on

I'm enjoying the jawing back and forth between Beal and Bam.

Beal backdoor cuts on Bam but Bam blocks his shot from behind. Bam looks right at Beal and says "that was NOT a foul!".

Beal gets the inbound play on the next possession, drives to the lane and draws a foul on Bam. Beal says, "THAT was a foul".

Predictably, Brooks has Mathews and Brown Jr glued to the bench while Bertans, Ish, and Len play the bulk of the bench minutes.

Drink every time Ish goes 1 on 5 and misses a contested layup

Relax. Beal is the last starter to go to the bench, so naturally, Mathews is the last bench player to come in.
