Lowe also said that apparently Giannis is setting more screens than he ever has before so maybe between that and having Jrue as a second creator now will address the stagnation issues.
Still feels like they’re a guy short. And if Lopez is just old now that puts them in a tough spot.
They need a way better scorer than Jrue. Atleast someone as good as Middleton but preferably way better.
Jrue is scoring 20% on crunch time this season while
Bledsoe scores 40% for them on crunch time last season.
During the 2020 playoffs, Giannis is third on scoring in crunch time, 13% of their team’s shots compared to 26% for Middleton. Bledose took slightly more share of their team’s shot attempts in crunch time than Giannis.
I don't know exactly what stat you are referring to here but I don't find that very compelling or predictive of anything. Like you realize Giannis got hurt in the playoffs and missed the end of the Heat series right? And that Jrue number is based on what 2-3 games? Bledsoe has been collapsing in the playoffs for years and I think it's reasonable to expect Jrue to be a steadier performer.
My point is Jrue, Bledsoe and Giannis are all not reliable in the last 12 minutes or so of playoff games when the game’s scoring margin is around 6pts (crunch time).
Its not just the 2020 playoffs. Even during the 2018-2019 playoffs, Giannis only have a EFG% of 30%. While he took almost same share of attempts in crunch time with Brolo.
Given Bucks’ talent, Jrue was a bad acquisition. They need a far better scorer than Jrue. Jrue isnt going to solve their problem
