Re: Around the NBA - Curse all of the other teams here
DeRozan is the ultimate Scott Perry target. A midrange artist and slasher on a mediocre team.
He's been playing great, but he's not the type of player this team needs at all.
With RJ, Randle and Mitch, this team needs guys who can be efficient volume 3-point shooters (like Burks or Quickley).
There's no room for another slashing guard with a midrange game on this roster. We already have RJ to fill that role.

A Quickley / Haliburton backcourt for the next decade.

For those who are watching, how does RJ Hampton look? I see on the box score he got minutes

It’s like when lil bitches make subliminal records, if it ain’t directed directly at me, I don’t respect it

Haliburton is gonna be a star. Possibly an all-time great player.
I never bought the low upside argument.
He reminds me of a cross between Klay Thompson and Penny Hardaway when Orlando were playing half-court basketball (Penny was obviously a different animal in transition).

Big win by Haliburton and Sactown. We needed this win by them today.

I just hate that we have a clear hole at the 2, and Haliburton is the type of guard that can play either the 1 or 2. Our FO had the right idea with Quickley, but more forward thinking they would have looked at Haliburton with his size and realized he's the perfect offset to Quickley and you can play them at the 1 and 2 and Haliburton's strengths cover Quickley's weaknesses which is he's a little shot happy at times. There would have been a perfect balance between them that one is a ball mover and the other is a scorer.

This season is so weird to.
We’re sixth seed, but if we had lost we would be slotted to 10th pick lottery odds.
Silver really made the league competitive as hell

I'm so annoyed w/ the Obi pick
FO better look hard into their evaluation and learn from their mistake
Obi can't post-up, can't shoot, can't handle, not a good defender....I seriously believe that Leon's judgment was clouded by the fact his son is on Obi's representation team

I think w/ back to backs vs the same teams, there is more parity b/c the team that lost comes out better the 2nd game. hard to win 2 in a row

He's Draymond'esque and just like Draymond needs to be around certain other type of players to win.
I don't know if he thrives nearly as well in the Thibs offense which is more iso based and where he would be surrounded by less shooters.
Walton is far from a great coach but playing next to Hield and Fox makes Haliburton's game easier. He might have thrived here too but I don't know.
Like everything we're seeing I expected from Haliburton in last year's draft threads but I also recognize he needs to be around certain players to do this
