That's what winners do, he's a culture changing type of player that almost always makes the right play.

He's Draymond'esque and just like Draymond needs to be around certain other type of players to win.

I don't know if he thrives nearly as well in the Thibs offense which is more iso based and where he would be surrounded by less shooters.

Walton is far from a great coach but playing next to Hield and Fox makes Haliburton's game easier. He might have thrived here too but I don't know.

Draymond is only Draymond in the right system because he can't shoot, he'd fit on pretty much any team if he could. Haliburton fits on any team, he's shooting 43% from three and plays off of Fox who has the ball in his hands at the same rate as Randle.

You give Haliburton all of the Rivers/Burks/Bullock minutes and he's doing the same exact thing here as he's doing with the Kings, because he'd be playing off people just the same as he's doing in Sac.

Our FO had the right idea with Quickley, but more forward thinking they would have looked at Haliburton with his size and realized he's the perfect offset to Quickley and you can play them at the 1 and 2 and Haliburton's strengths cover Quickley's weaknesses which is he's a little shot happy at times. There would have been a perfect balance between them that one is a ball mover and the other is a scorer.

I'm so annoyed w/ the Obi pick

FO better look hard into their evaluation and learn from their mistake

Obi can't post-up, can't shoot, can't handle, not a good defender....I seriously believe that Leon's judgment was clouded by the fact his son is on Obi's representation team

And to think Leon was even thinking of trading up to get him.

Lol he was definitely solid. Very active, seemed a little lost on defense but dominated on the boards and hustled.

You might be right.

However, on the Kings there is enough outside scoring for 3pt from Fox, Barnes, and Heild he can be the glue man that helps them win and shoot 3's as part of a squad. On the Knicks, it gets more complicated. He would likely be in the Bullock role, as the 3&D on the roster but Bullock is a streaky shooter so teams don't game plan to stop him. The lack of 3 pt shooting around him would allow defenses to zone in on him and make his life difficult. Similar to what we saw Portland do to Quickley today.

Knicks would need him to be a walking iso bucket like Lavine for him to thrive here. Quickley is another guy who can get his own shot easy and under pressure. Sort of like Obi who besides not being strong suffers from their being no playmaking PG on the roster. Quickley shows signs of it but he really is just got at getting his.

After all they played in the worse conference with the second worst team to reach finals in Cleveland 2018 and bums like Sixers, Bucks and Heat. You guys excuse Lillard with the conference powerhouses, but what about Celtics and Tatum? They've been good for 5 years now with a shitty-ass competition. He needs elevating in playoffs, not shrinking.

He was 22 years old when he led his team to the ECF and you’re here using not leading his team to the finals as proof that he’s not that good?

This is just insanity

Just cant understand how the Knicks missed this...

This kid has been that young kid who has weathered all of the abuse from his older brothers
and tough father...He was built for this...

Yup! My guess is when Charlotte worked him out privately, he crossed up Jordan so badly and he said yup we taking this kid.

I will take one step further- I believe he's the closest we've seen to a Kidd and if he puts the work in - he will be better :o

That’s my comp as well. Better scoring Kidd. Not bad. Sucks we don’t have him but happy CHA might have a legit cornerstone

Like everything we're seeing I expected from Haliburton in last year's draft threads but I also recognize he needs to be around certain players to do this

It's not that Haliburton needs spacing, every player needs spacing. It's that he provides spacing, in addition to everything else that he does.

He'd be a perfect next to RJ and Randle. It's not like Fox, Holmes and Bagley are knockdown shooters either, by the way.
