Jaden Springer is def my #1 target for the Raptors now, flying under the board right now but he's got a lot of what I'm looking for right now.

- an elite Defender
- ability to get to the rim
- decent size (6'4)
- shot-making ability
- the youngest player in the draft IIRC
- his brothers are 6'6-6-7 so a growth spurt is possible
- fun fact, also cousins with Bembry

he's very jimmy butler-esque

drawbacks would be hes not a great shooter and doesnt have great length, but could be the ideal SG next to Fred long term

I think a handful of these guys should be on the board.

- Jaden Springer
- Keon Johnson
- Greg Brown
- Ziaire Williams
- Cameron Thomas
- Corey Kispert
- Josh Christopher

Of that list Josh Christopher stands out the most to me and I'd actually be incredibly happy if we somehow ended up with him at our likely 18th-21st pick. He looks like a walking bucket and this team absolutely NEEDS someone who can do so...

Following that it would be Williams because all the skill is there but maybe our developmental team can push more out of him. I don't mind Brown because he has a raw "OG-esque" type of vibe to him and we've obviously turned him into one of the better high level 3+D players but he def wouldn't be top of my list.

Personally will be one of Barnes (mainly) or Johnson somehow drop into laps but I've said it a few times but guys like Bouknight or Duke scream "Raptor types of pick lately. Guys with at least a couple years under their belt and supposedly more "NBA ready". Won't be thrilled with that outcome because I think their ceiling is yet another high end roleplayer and I just believe guys like Christopher, Williams (ofc Barnes or Johnson) have more all star level potential....the one guy who I do at this point seeing dropping is Boston but personally I'd rather roll the dice on him than a supposed NBA ready player that almost certainly projects as a high level rotation player, we already have plenty of those and have to find a way to raise the team's ceiling as 1st rd to 2md rd at best fodder.

If Boston doesn't get his act together no one should take him in the 1st round. He should come back for his sophomore year. He's like mini-Skal Labissiere at this point.

I can't wait to see Nix. He's the same height as Jalen Green less the wingspan and supreme athelticism, but the play-making is supposed to be sweet. He looks like a 6'5 Lowry.

Oh we're drafting some guy no one heard of that's 2 years away from being 2 years away. Still gonna be exciting to see the young duo.

He's looks like a smoother play-making version of Marcus Smart without the flopping. He would be a nice pairing with FVV for the future. Flip Powell and or Matt Thomas.

It would be nice if he could drop to the late teens.

He's inconsistent but he is a freshman afterall. The eye test says yes. He does shoot like 75% FT's so he might be able to continue shooting 3's well if increased volume in the future.

Tankathon currently has him at #10, but could easily see the following players leapfrogging him; Ziaire Williams, Kispert, Wagner, Keon Johnson, Sharife Cooper, Josh Christoper, Kai Jones, Greg Brown. Then he would be available at #18. Maybe a team drafts Garuba or Sengun to draft and stash in Europe?

To me Jalen Johnson is securely in the top 6. He's playing limited minutes coming back from injury.

In 25 mins yesterday vs UNC, he put up 14 points (6 for 12, 2 for 2 from 3), 5 rebs, 5 assists (2 turnovers), 1 block and 1 steal. I would take him for sure over Scottie Barnes, who's in the next tier.

ESPN and the Athletic have him in the 20-35 range, so he should be available by our pick (expecting it to be like 18-25)

Yeah, he's in that Smart/Lowry/Butler, IQ-based power guard mold.

There was a lot Lamelo doubters this year but dude is looking like a star in the making
And that's from what's considered a much weaker draft.

I think people just didn't really know how playing in the NBL would translate to the NBA as his team wasn't great and didn't lead to wins. RJ Hampton hasn't done anything.

I would put Jalen Johnson on the level of a Lamelo. All of the other 5 of Kuminga, Suggs, Green, Cunningham and Mobley would be at least on par with Lamelo as prospects.

He not really even playing that much different either just starting to get comfortable and has actual talent around him. Once his shot gets more consistent it's gonna be something.

I agree with that take though all of them have shown atleast a talent lvl close to that

Barnes and Johnson should go top-10, but Springer has a higher chance of being available when we pick.

my question with Barnes is how will he score? cant really shoot or finish right now

good for passing and defense but that's not really a need for the raptors rn, same with Jalen J, haven't seen much halfcourt scoring from him either.

Both are nice utility 4s, but we already have a great one in Pascal so both don't really appeal to me.

Return to Toronto Raptors
