RJ was having a hard time with the traps and double teams.

That's what Thibs will say.

Playoff hunt mode activated.
Player development mode deactivated.

This is what some of you want.

Obi will be good when he gets actual minutes. He's been showing glimpses the last few games. His teammates always miss him on cuts and stuff though.

the DRose trade is clearly his doing, which means he's got a big say in FO decisions

I mean from a talent standpoint, its a good trade regardless of the Thibs/Rose connection. We got more talented with that trade.

Its remains to be seen how it might **** up IQs minutes and others though.

Sure. Rose will be gone next year, and IQ will get less minutes. But at least we're 'more talented'

But what I am not trying to have us role out vet min players trying to win games when those players have no future.

The fact that RJ and Quick can’t even get 20 minutes is embarrassing. F*CK DROSE TOO. We should be keeping our assets not blowing them on one year rentals, I don’t care if it’s a 2nd round pick. This kind of dumb trade just shows that our management has no idea what they are doing.

The last couple games have shown me the direction we are going, and I am not pleased at all

People who've said that also said it was only a matter of time until Quickley starts over Payton.

"Thibs sees what's going on"
"Thibs isn't blind"
"Thibs isn't stupid"

I don't think he's learning from this. He likes Payton for whatever reason, and the fact that he assuredly lobbied for Rose (a point guard with a similar profile) tells me that he actually wants more of the same.

There are simple point guard things that Quickly struggles with though so just handing him starting minutes takes away accountability for these issues. I'm over complaining about Payton starting, but Thibs can clearly do better with staggering minutes. There's no reason Quickley should be prevented from playing minutes with Randle or RJ. Technically IQ should be the first guy off the bench, but instead we get Burks, Noel/Taj before the bench dump. Its lazy and not innovative at all. You can play ten players without rotating them the exact same way every game.

I'm on team "hoping that maybe just maybe Rose will take Paytons minutes and IQ will start"

But alright.

Yep. I didn’t care as long as some of our kids were the driving forces. But if we’re reverting back to old Knicks where vets w/ no future here (or maybe not even the NBA) play over the kids to win games now, I hope they lose out

I legit will be rooting for Thibs to fail if this is the direction we're going (and this is the direction we're going). I literally will be rooting for losses.

It's petty, but idgaf.

If IQ showed he could handle the double better (or Thibs game planned against it better), IQ might have gotten more minutes.

Ah, who am I kidding. IQ gets about 15-18 mpg no matter what.

IQ just needs to learn to attack the double team, either split it, go around the weaker defender, or make the quick pass. Can’t give Thibs the excuse to sit him.
